I was engaged from the very first chapter and ... could not put the book down until I knew the fate of this innocent little girl. Attention to detail in the writing with a creative and original plot plus the characters were believable and well developed Beautifully written and I can't wait to read more about these characters in the future books.

Her characters are so real... I just knew that I had met Quinn somewhere... and the way this author was able to manipulate my feelings toward the deputy was astounding. I always look forward to anything this gifted writer produces knowing that I can count on her to hold me from the beginning to the end without being assaulted with the gratuitous sex scene or the tiring and predictable random use of profanity that so many authors tend to lean on. I highly recommend not only "Liar Like Her" but anything DL Wood writes.

This review is for Robin Patchen's Glimmer In The Darkness. I will review the rest of the set closer to release date. But since Ms. Patchen was kind enough to offer me an advanced e-copy of this book, I wanted to do an advance review (which was in no way solicited - thoughts are my own) of her portion. Glimmer in the Darkness is the first in her Coventry saga and begins with a whole new cast of characters (though there is one cameo from a Nutfield saga person - Easter egg to fans of the author, This review is for Robin Patchen's Glimmer In The Darkness. I will review the rest of the set closer to release date. But since Ms. Patchen was kind enough to offer me an advanced e-copy of this book, I wanted to do an advance review (which was in no way solicited - thoughts are my own) of her portion. Glimmer in the Darkness is the first in her Coventry saga and begins with a whole new cast of characters (though there is one cameo from a Nutfield saga person - Easter egg to fans of the author, won't lose anyone who hasn't read that series). Cassidy returns to Coventry 10 years after running away in order to help find a missing girl and in so doing, help make up for the past. Though she'd planned to avoid him, she ends up running into her high school sweetheart, James, and the 2 work together to try to find Ella before it's too late. This book was full of twists and turns and I never saw it coming who the villain was until he was revealed. I enjoyed the cast of characters in this book and the depth that they had. They were likable and relatable. There were some heavier topics included such as child abuse (nothing detailed, so hopefully wouldn't be a trigger) and the main plot line involves kidnapping of young girls. But the author handles these heavy subjects with a great deal of care and grace. There's a solid faith thread throughout and a strong theme of forgiveness in this story line. By the end, I was definitely fighting tears. I've read everything that this author has published and have not been steered wrong once. This was another 5 star read from Robin Patchen! Update upon finishing the entire series. This was a great collection of romantic suspense books, some of which were excellent and some of which were not quite as much, gaining an overall rating of 4 stars. Here's a breakdown of the books themselves: Lethal Outbreak - I've long been a fan of Lisa Harris's. This is the 3rd book in the Agents of Mercy series, but could easily stand alone. This book is actually a prequel for book 2, and I wish I'd read this one before Port of Origin as I felt less satisfied with the relationship ending knowing what comes next. So, if you haven't read Port of Origin yet, I might recommend saving it for after this one. :) This one hit the ground running and didn't let up at all. Full of intense action and twists and turns, I honestly never knew what was coming next. With the main plotline having to do with a virus that could be a global pandemic, this one also hit a bit close to home. With a bit of a cliffhanger in the epilogue, I look forward to book 4! The only complaint I have on this one is that the romance moved much too fast for my liking. I rated this story with 4 stars. Collision Course- I was pleasantly surprised by this one as the only other Elizabeth Goddard novel I read was one I didn't enjoy all that much, but after this, I will have to give her another try! This one had a great mystery, the best part being that you didn't know who was being targeted. As an undercover FBI agent with short-term memory loss, Reg assumes it's part of the case he'd been working on. His ex-girlfriend, currently a PI, who has been hired to follow Reg, assumes it's something she uncovered in her quest to close the case on her father's murder. And Reg's grandmother (with whom Reg has been staying) believes it has to do with her stolen artwork. This one had lots of twists and turns that I never saw coming and a believable romance due to their history. I rated this one with 4 stars as well. Glimmer in the Darkness - I've been a big fan of Robin Patchen's for awhile and have read everything she has written. This one was another 5 star review! But the author handles these heavy subjects with a great deal of care and grace. There's a solid faith thread throughout and a strong theme of forgiveness in this story line. By the end, I was definitely fighting tears. Expired Plot - I really enjoyed the storyline of this one and there were several twists and turns in this one as well. I had no idea who the bad guy was in this one. This was book 6 in the Last Chance County series, and having not read any of the others was perhaps the reason why I really struggled to connect with the characters and really follow what they were doing. It had a sweet ending and I enjoyed the story itself, but I would give this one 3 stars due to not being able to connect with the characters. Ice - I really enjoyed this one! This is the first book I've read of Lynnette Bonner's, but I'll be checking out her other works soon! This is book 2 in the San Juan Shadows series, but could easily stand alone as I wasn't aware it was part of a series. Camryn Hunt is just trying to get by, and after a long shift witnesses a murder at the bus stop. Her witness to it makes her a target and she's placed in protective custody. This one had some intense suspense and a few unexpected surprises (trying to not use the phrase "twists and turns" for each book) and I enjoyed the slow burn romance. The characters were fun and relatable, and there was a solid faith thread woven in. I gave this one 5 stars! Never a Traitor - While I liked the premise of this one and was surprised by who the villain was, I really struggled to connect with this one. Again, this may be because this is book 7 in the Protector Sweethearts series and I've not read any of the others, but I struggled to really like the characters. The conversations felt a bit stiff and there were a few minor plot holes (nothing that was integral to the actual plotline, but little side details that didn't add up) and that detracted enough from the story for me that I would not have likely finished it if it hadn't been part of this collection. Since this author is a USA Today best-seller, it's probably just me personally, but I didn't connect with this particular story. Fans of the series likely will, though. I gave this one 2 stars. Ben In Love - this is the first in the Ben Mitchell/Titus Ray Thriller series, but I believe it follows along with the Titus Ray series nicely. While I have several of those books on my kindle, I haven't read any of them yet, but that will be remedied soon as I really liked this one! This was the only book in the collection written from 1st person point of view, written from the perspective of Titus Ray. While several other books were referenced (I could tell because the book titles were actually part of the conversations), enough background information was provided that I was never lost even though I haven't read them. The faith thread in this one was a bit more subtle, but it was woven in nicely. I enjoyed that the main character in this one was married and that the romance happened with other characters. This was a fun read and I look forward to reading more of Titus Ray. I gave this one 5 stars. Liar Like Her - while this one is book 2 in the "Secrets and Lies" series, it doesn't actually have any recurring scenes or characters from book 1. They are only connected by the fact that they're about secrets and lies, so this one is definitely a stand-alone. This story follows Quinn Bello, who is trying to get her life back together after an incident that landed her in rehab. When she finds a dead body in her home that is removed before the police get there, she's made to look like she's going crazy. While not action-packed, this one had a lot of intense suspense and I enjoyed the slow-burn romance. I enjoyed the subtle faith thread in this one as well, and loved the way the mystery played out. Very well done! I gave this one 5 stars as well and look forward to more from this author! Overall, if you enjoy faith-filled romantic suspense novels, this is a great collection for you. I'd highly recommend!

Until you decide that, you won’t have peace.” “And my take on this and on you has everything to do with the fact that you have a history as a liar and a drinker and a self-medicator who not six months ago was so hopped-up that you nearly shot someone in a courtroom—” This is a review solely for the last book in this boxed set, Liar Like Her by DL Wood. I look forward to reading more of these stories by these terrific Christian authors. First of all, I am a huge fan of author DL Wood. I discovered her on Goodreads back in 2015 and loved every book so far. Liar Like Her is no exception. It has all the elements of other DL Wood books: a great setting (a small beach town in Florida!), edge of your seat suspense with nice chapter ending cliffhangers throughout, Christian themes of not letting your past define your present/future, romance that is neither sappy or unrealistic, and protagonists that you immediately are drawn to with many layers. Speaking of protagonists, Quinn Bello is an ex-lawyer who is disbarred after firing a gun in a courtroom after a mixture of medicine and alcohol. DL Wood handles the topic of depression seriously and realistically. We also have Ian Wolfe, who owns a local coffee shop, and has a secretive past. Throw in a vanishing dead body and skeptical law enforcement and you have quite the intriguing story! I spent the entirety of the book not knowing what was going to happen next. There was some foreshadowing on one of the aspects that later came into play, but other than that, a total mystery. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian suspense with just the right amount of romance thrown in. And with a boxed set at $0.99, this story alone makes it more than worth it alone. Order it today! I received this book courtesy of the author in exchange for an honest review. I was given an advanced copy of Not A Traitor that is in this box set. Ms. Thompson does a super job writing a complex, suspenseful mystery. It is very good. I was very surprised by the ending. I am anxious to read the books by the other authors when the box set comes out. I love mysteries & think all of them will be excellent.

DL Wood’s book Liar Like Her is a great read. Wood draws you in with her characters, especially the main character Quinn. There is a great twist at the end which explains what has happened to Quinn. A great romantic suspense novel! Loved it.

Is this a copycat killer, or the same one? James wants to find his friend, Reid's missing daughter. He knows the pain and horror of a missing child, and then discovering the death. Ten years earlier, that child was his little sister. He can't bear the thought of his friend going through that same pain and agony. Cassidy comes back to town, but is hiding and with good reason. Ten years earlier, she was blamed my most everyone in Coventry for the death of James' little sister. Already convicted by the townspeople, she fled. Now, she's back hoping to help find the missing child. There is past history between James and Cassidy. I read through this book quicker than usual. This is an edge of your seat kind of story. Lots of twists and turns. A story of redemption, forgiveness, and second chances. I had no idea who the killer was until right before the story revealed it. So grateful Robin Patchen allowed me to have early access to this story.

I'm in suspense heaven reading these amazing stories all in one boxed set. These are some of my favorite authors all combined in one. And all for under a buck. Honestly, I've only read two, but they were both nail biters and they both had romance. So, yay me!! I'll update this when I finish the others. The two I have read are Ben in Love and the San Juan Island book. I'm in suspense heaven reading these amazing stories all in one boxed set. These are some of my favorite authors all combined in one. Once I started reading Glimmer in the darkness, I could not put it down!! The suspense of who it was kept me turning the page. And was I surprised! This book not only had suspense but the faith of a child was refreshing, the determination and conviction of a young woman driving her to overcome her fears was inspiring and the undying love of a friend shows true love heals. As long as there is a glimmer in darkness, there is light.

I became thoroughly immersed in "Glimmer of Darkness" by Robin Patchen, where young Ella is kidnapped. Cassidy returns to her hometown to find the little girl. She was involved in a kidnapping 10 years ago and feels that this and a more recent kidnapping/murder are all connected. Can Cassidy and her long time ago boyfriend James race against time to find Ella, or will he and the town still blame Cassidy for the death of the kidnapper's first victim? Ms. Patchen creates a most suspenseful story. I became thoroughly immersed in "Glimmer of Darkness" by Robin Patchen, where young Ella is kidnapped. Ms. Patchen creates a most suspenseful story. Her characters are so vividly described that the reader is pulled into the story and feels a part of it. Though I did guess the kidnapper before the end, there were many other details that complete this clean romantic suspense. A great story and start to a new and exciting series. In "Expired Plot", another suspenseful story, Will who goes undercover to investigate a local crime boss. I did not read the previous books in this series, so sometimes other characters mentioned were a bit confusing. The story takes extraordinary twists and turns (at times a bit unbelievable), but I also enjoyed this story with suspense and occasional touches of humor. I hope to soon be able to read the other books in this series (Last Chance County). In "Lethal Outbreak", virus hunter Aiden meets epidemiologist Rachel, and immediately they're thrown into a mystery and a race to find who's trying to steal a dangerous virus as well as who's hunting them down. They team together, surprises abound with plenty of twists and turns. An enjoyable fast-paced story. "Ice" by Lynnette Bonner was riveting and suspenseful. An innocent bystander witnesses a murder of an underdcover agent, and her life changes in the blink of an eye. I need to read the entire San Juan Shadows Series! I highly recommend this boxset by a wonderful group of authors!

Glimmer in the Darkness Dangerous Deceptions) Oof. I wasn’t sure I would be able to read this book all the way through when I discovered the plot was about a child who is kidnapped and kept hidden away in a cave. It is definitely a gripping story and very well written. Fortunately, there is a happy ending. It isn’t as graphic as I was afraid it would be and, since it’s a clean Christian romance, I really enjoyed it. Definitely suspenseful and the reader is kept guessing. I recommend it. It is definitely a gripping story and very well written. Fortunately, there is a happy ending. It isn’t as graphic as I was afraid it would be and, since it’s a clean Christian romance, I really enjoyed it. Definitely suspenseful and the reader is kept guessing. I recommend it. I received a complimentary early copy and chose to leave an honest review. In time, I will read the other stories in this compilation and may decide to leave reviews of those as well.

I received an advanced ebook and I am voluntarily leaving my review. I read Glimmer in the Darkness and really liked that book. It was a good clean read. I've not read the others in this collection yet because some of them are not book one in their series and I've not read the other books in those series yet. I give Glimmer in the Darkness 5 stars, but this collection only 4 since they are all not first books of their series. I received an advanced ebook and I am voluntarily leaving my review. Dangerous..Deception. Box A great selection of stories by known authors. Glimmer in the Darkness by Robin Patchen, was different and intriguing of a kidnapping and being held in a cave. To join forces Cassidy and James learn forgiveness was needed to work together again. A good Christian story of learning and believing what your heart says, not the gossip. All the stories were well done, and enjoyable to read. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

I was given an early copy of this box set. I have read Glimmer in the Darkness by Robin Patchen. This is book 1 in her new series, Coventry Saga. There is history between the main characters, James and Cassidy. Although 10 years have passed, they need to work together to find a little girl who has been kidnapped. They are seeking the truth, while most everyone else is blaming Cassidy. This was a page turner and I highly recommend this book. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series as well I was given an early copy of this box set. I have read Glimmer in the Darkness by Robin Patchen. Liar Like Her by D.L. Wood in the Dangerous Deceptions set was a fantastic read! As is the case with all of her books, this is one you won't want to put down. I kept thinking, "I will read just one more chapter", but then kept on reading right to the end. Very vivid descriptions make you feel like you in the story and I love the twist at the end. It couldn't get any better than that! You will be reading for a long time and getting such different, interesting stories! I loved every one of them! I couldn't put it down and just kept reading one right after the other. It took me almost a week! I thoroughly enjoyed the action and the romance, plus getting to know some new authors. I was fortunate to receive an early copy of Lethal Outbreak by Lisa Harris and Lynne Gentry. This story is in the same thrilling-suspense-vein of their previous longer form books. It's brilliantly paced, Rachel and Aidan are two very good characters and the globetrotting between Bermuda, USA and Istanbul adds an extra dimension to it. The second story in the collection, 'Collision Course' by Elizabeth Goddard is full of unexpected twists and turns as Reg, recovering from a horrific motorbike acci I was fortunate to receive an early copy of Lethal Outbreak by Lisa Harris and Lynne Gentry. The second story in the collection, 'Collision Course' by Elizabeth Goddard is full of unexpected twists and turns as Reg, recovering from a horrific motorbike accident, and Nicole, inadvertently collide into each other's lives only to get caught up in a global art smuggling racket. As they grapple with their past relationship they must solve the crime and save Reg's grandmother, Nicole's client. It's a lot of fun but too many plots were meshed together in the end which I found a little confusing and hard to fathom. 'Like like Her' by D.L Wood is the last in the boxset. Not being familiar with this author I wasn't sure what to expect. But this was a really good suspense thriller. Quinn Bello and Ian Wolfe were two wonderful broken characters and the storyline dealing with PTSD, childhood trauma and letting go of the past was thoroughly entertaining. Wood also weaves in a lovely spiritual message about the power of one's identity and the importance of self-forgiveness. I'm so looking forward to reading the other stories in this boxset. For less than a dollar it's a steal.

Lethal Outbreak by Lisa Harris and Lynne Gentry: I found it easy to relate to Rachel as she struggled with what to do when someone asked her to do something contrary to the rules. I have always tried to play by the rules, but I have never been involved in life-or-death situations like Rachel was. If she strictly adhered to the rules, the risk of the wrong person getting their hands on the virus were great. If she did not follow the rules, she was at risk of getting into serious trouble with her Lethal Outbreak by Lisa Harris and Lynne Gentry: I found it easy to relate to Rachel as she struggled with what to do when someone asked her to do something contrary to the rules. I have always tried to play by the rules, but I have never been involved in life-or-death situations like Rachel was. If she strictly adhered to the rules, the risk of the wrong person getting their hands on the virus were great. If she did not follow the rules, she was at risk of getting into serious trouble with her employer and potentially the law. What a conundrum! I enjoyed the fast pace and the great lengths she and Aiden went to in their efforts to keep the virus safe. I only took the required science classes in school because that was not my area of strength, but the story kept me engrossed. Glimmer in the Darkness by Robin Patchen: The story is full of suspense and action. Ask yourself as the story unfolds if you would have run in similar circumstances. Cassidy, the heroine has a strong faith, while the hero, James, has been estranged from God, having concluded ten years earlier that God was not interested in his life. Follow the events of the story to see what has caused him to feel this way. Also, try to imagine how the little girl who was kidnapped must have felt when the kidnapper kept calling her his sister and talking about how their mommy had treated them, how he planned to take care of her, and how bright the future would be. All she wanted was to go back to her daddy. Although the truth usually comes out, the scars caused by evil deeds still remain and sometimes have lasting effects. Collision Course by Elizabeth Goddard: After the opening paragraphs when Reg Jacobson is facing down five gunmen with illegal automatic weapons, plus two black SUVs with several additional men, the story takes off at a rapid pace and does not slow down. The reader almost needs a scorecard to keep track of who are the good guys versus the bad guys. We know Reg is one of the good guys but trying to figure out who else falls in that category is difficult at times. The situation is exceptionally precarious for Reg because of an accident that wiped out part of his memory. The overwhelming question is whether he will regain his memory before the wrong person finds him and does him in. Expired Plot by Lisa Phillips: As the story opens, I had trouble relating to Hollis because she seemed to have trouble relating to anyone in her life. She seemed so out of sorts with the whole world. The author did a good job developing her character as the story progressed. By the end, I felt I understood Hollis much better. I enjoyed the suspense. Ice by Lynette Bonner: Another story that almost requires a scorecard to keep track of the honorable citizens versus the criminal element. What do you do when you see someone deliberately rundown by an automobile and suddenly find yourself in the crosshairs of people who want you eliminated so you cannot tell what you saw? What can honest law enforcement officers do when they suspect other officers were involved in the death of the person lying in the street? How can they protect the witness? The story takes several unexpected twists and turns that kept me anxiously awaiting the outcome. Never a Traitor by Jan Thompson: An exciting story with fast-paced action, romance, and lots of suspense. The author skillfully weaves her faith into the story as the hero and heroine find themselves needing to pray frequently regarding the circumstances they are in. Sienna and Earl seem to constantly be stepping into one dangerous situation after the other, never knowing if they can trust the people with whom they are dealing. Very few of their plans seem to work out the way they expect because someone keeps finding ways to keep tabs on them. Ben in Love by Luana Ehrlich: Quite an interesting tale of a covert operation involving the CIA and the FBI working together to protect a Turkish Imam. How Ben, Titus, and Jennifer could play the roles they did so effectively is beyond me. Titus was a Christian, so it seems it would have been exceptionally difficult for him to carry out some of the operations required of him. I especially appreciated the way in which he allowed Frank to set the pace when Frank spoke of his search for something more because he had seen Titus living it. Liar Like Her by D.L. Wood: This was my first D.L. Wood book, and hopefully will not be the last. I enjoyed the back stories of the hero and heroine, and the way they were coping with their pasts. I think it had to be far more difficult for Quinn because she had returned to her hometown to try to heal from a past that practically everyone she knew reminded her of at every turn. On the other hand, Ian had moved from another part of the country to a place where no one knew him. The big question is whether Quinn will survive long enough to overcome the past. She had a lot to overcome. I received a copy of this box set from one of the authors. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

8 heroines find danger & love in this boxed set... Lethal Outbreak by Lisa Harris & Lynne Gentry: Oh, boy! What a tale to start of the collection! What a tale to start of the collection! You can't beat this author combination and their story is dynamite! It was especially eerie when you stop to think that it was released during a real pandemic. I really enjoyed all of the fascinating details about how viruses are tested etc. And the settings? WOW! Collision Course by Elizabeth Goddard: Missing art, a long ago murder, betrayal, and missing memories? Yes, this story in the collection has all of that and more. Aside from the ties to history, I think my favorite aspect of this one was the to-die-for settings, the Washington coast, Montana, and Alaska all provide a backdrop for this suspenseful tale. Glimmer in the Darkness by Robin Patchen: Yikes! What a story! It's the first one that I've read by this author and after this one I fully plan on reading more. The story was tense, and sometimes intense, and kept me glued to my Kindle. I had a lot of fun trying to guess who the villain was and wanted to yell “HAH!” when I was proved right. Expired Plot by Lisa Phillips: Betrayal. If I were going to pick one single word to summarize this story in the collection that would be the one. This story is dark, it's gritty, but the faith message shines strongly through it all. I really enjoyed the non-stereotypical hero and heroine, they aren't perfect and they don't have it all together. Ice by Lynnette Bonner: Wow! When I started this book in the collection I had no clue what I was in for. This isn't just your usual bystander witnesses a murder story. No, the threads of danger and suspense lead in the most unexpected directions. And the mystery villain's identity? Well, I admit that I hadn't seen it coming. Never A Traitor by Jan Thompson: While it's not the strongest story in the collection it does have some of the most interesting settings including Tybee Island in Georgia and a resort in the Bahamas. The identification of the mastermind and the final showdown were a bit intense and kept me glued to my Kindle. Can anyone say sharks? Ben in Love by Luana Ehrlich: This is only the second book that I've read by this author and I have to say that it's the one that I enjoyed the most. It's the only one with a first person POV, which was done quite well, making it stand out and also adding interesting twist to the suspense/thriller angles of the story. Liar Like Her by D.L. Wood: New to me author but I think this book has to be one of my top favorites in the collection! The characters are flawed and have made some serious mistakes in the past but they stand strong anyway. I enjoyed the uniqueness of the mystery and the charming small-town coastal Florida setting. (I received a copy of this book from an author. All opinions are entirely my own.)

Really good boxset here. It has action, clean romance, a few surprises and God’s hand working in everything. I already was familiar with a couple of the authors in this set and have always enjoyed their work, so it was a no brainer for me to pre-order this set. However, since I can’t read my ‘pre-order’, I jumped at the chance to obtain an advance reader copy. The first book I read was Robin Patchen’s ‘Glimmer in the Darkness’. However, since I can’t read my ‘pre-order’, I jumped at the chance to obtain an advance reader copy. The first book I read was Robin Patchen’s ‘Glimmer in the Darkness’. It is a heart-wrenching story that grabbed me from the first page. A little girl is kidnapped and an innocent woman is being blamed. Thus we have several angles woven into the story, one of the little girl with her kidnapper and one of the accused proving her innocence all the while trying to find that little girl. ... Well, let's just say, bullets fly in Collision Course. ... Expired Plot is full of twists and turns. You think you have it figured out but then nothing is ever as it seems. It's hard to go into detail on all these books as I be writing way too much and giving spoilers. Suffice it to say, this boxset is full of intrigue, drama and emotion. This is a set I’ll keep in my library. Some books are just meant to be reread. And getting all of these great authors in one boxset made my decision to purchase very easy.
