When Brand was in high school, he fell in love with his best friend, Carson. But just after graduation, Carson left with no explanation. Brand spent years trying to put himself back together. Now, seven years later, for the very first time, Brand has started to have feelings for someone new. But isn’t fate cruel when his feelings are just beginning to grow for this new man, Carson walks back into his life. Carson Keaton left Tahoe seven years ago and it was the hardest thing he has ever done. Brand was the love of his life. Now Carson is a huge Hollywood star but there is a writer’s strike. With nothing holding him in Hollywood, maybe it’s time to finally go back to Tahoe and face his past. One look at Brand and he knew his love was still as strong as ever. Can he get Brand to listen to his explanations? Can he even begin to hope that he will give him a second chance, that he’ll forgive him? I loved these two. I was a little afraid that this would be too angsty but it really wasn’t. I couldn’t help but to love Carson and Brand. This is a story of true love, of forever love. No matter what had happened in the seven years they were apart, their love still could not be denied. I definitely look forward to more by this author. I’m so glad I took a chance on this! Brand West still lives in Tahoe and has reached his dream of becoming a paramedic. But up until recently his social life has been void since his first love left seven years ago with no reason. But he is just starting to dip his foot back into the dating pool with a man who has potential. Carson Keaton left for California and became a television star. As far as others know, he never looked back. But his reasons for leaving were not what they seemed. And now with a hiatus and his Cali life on hold, it is time to head home and face his demons and the man he left behind at eighteen years old. He is looking for forgiveness, redemption, and maybe even a second chance. But he has no idea what he will find when he gets there. Brand is blindsided by his sudden return, and is still bitter, angry, and hurt. He is scared of letting Carson back in and being destroyed again. He has to scramble to figure out if he wants to just get closure and move forward with his new relationship, or if he can truly forgive and rekindle things with Carson. I liked the first-love, coming home, second-chance storyline. The reason for him leaving that caused the main conflict was unique. I liked Brand and Carson's personalities and they were great together. They had history and a bond that had been bent but never completely severed. I even liked the "other man", Teo, although I did not like that there was some back and forth initially and on-page sexy times with him (but the author tried to carefully make it not a cheating situation). But he was also a good man that deserved happiness as well. Brand's best friend, Ryan was unfiltered and unapologetic in her support, and Carson's family was sweet. Some other things did bother me. It felt more superficial in some ways. My issues mostly stemmed from the communication, ignoring possible issues, quick and reactive decisions, and drama and angst that seemed to resolve too easily. It just kept missing the mark for me at times. So overall, despite the painful emotional situations and minor drama, it read much lighter and fluffier than I expected. But that is not always a bad thing, especially these days. If you want something quick, sweet, and more like a Hallmark movie (Heck, this one even has a winter festival), this might fit the bill. Thank goodness for decent and mature people. They made this story impressive. A beautiful, heartfelt, emotional story, so much hurt, and so much love. A story about second chances, so deserved. A beautifully written narrative, emotional, with two beautiful men who never stopped loving each other even though it was a hard road for them. I adore true love stories very, with not too much drama, so it’s good manageable. The story was nicely developed, steady-paced, and had a good flow. Read and reviewed for LoveBytesReviews

Tahoe Blue, by Eden French, is two lives torn apart by a homophobic father’s pure hate. For me, the song “Dear John” by Brandon Stansell is a reflection of how Tahoe Blue begins. For seven years Brand West has internally never let go of his first love, Carson Keaton. Telling himself that he is moving on like Carson did, focusing on his career and the world around him. For me, the song “Dear John” by Brandon Stansell is a reflection of how Tahoe Blue begins. For seven years Brand West has internally never let go of his first love, Carson Keaton. Telling himself that he is moving on like Carson did, focusing on his career and the world around him. Years prior, a young, scared, and naive Carson acts in the only way he can think to protect his family and his true love from the hate that pours out of his father; a person who should have given him nothing but unconditional love. He leaves his small Tahoe town unable to say the words “I’m leaving for Hollywood, Mom. Oh, by the way, Dad is a bigot and a homophobe, and he threatened to hurt you, and kill me and Brand if I stay in town.” For seven years, Carson has poured himself into his acting career becoming a smoking-hot television star. Brand is well respected in the community as a paramedic, taking care of those in need. Yet, during the past seven years there has been no one… until now. There is something about Teo that awakens Brand and he begins to think maybe he can have his future. Then, BAM, Carson is back! Why now when he didn’t even show up for his father’s funeral? Why now when he didn’t even say goodbye? The torment from all angles in ‘Tahoe Blue’ creates a heart-pounding, edge of your seat page turner that I devoured without regard to sleep. When you reach the climactic ending, it will absolutely steal your heart. The answer to “why now” is a movie writers’ strike and a gentle push from his agent for Carson to resolve the past that continues to haunt him. With trepidation, and a new fear, Carson heads home to put the demons to rest. And… if there is a minuscule of a chance with Brand, he will latch onto it. But, how will he explain his reasoning for leaving to Brand, his sister, Cassie, and his mother? He is shocked to find out that after his father’s death Cassie and his mother discovered the truth. That leaves only one need… to explain his actions to Brand. The surprise and shock of seeing her son in so many years create a bit of drama as Mrs. Keaton faints hitting her head. Of course, paramedic Brand responds to the 911 call. No time for a planned reunion, a shield of ice goes up around Brand in Carson’s presence, beginning the push pull reconnection between Carson and Brand. Carson and Brand are different men now; more mature and having built separate lives. Can they resolve their differences? Can they navigate the individual careers each have built? Undeniably, the attraction and their intense connection remains. Carson takes full credit for his mistakes and patiently waits for Brand to choose his path. Teo promises Brand security and stability whereas Carson represents heartache and devastation. But also, a soul deep connection. It is Teo who pushes Brand to figure out what he wants, not wanting to be Brand’s second choice. Teo has a past of his own that fuels his understanding and support for Brand, knowing full well it could possibly make him the odd man out. In summary, ‘Tahoe Blue’ is one of my favorite reads for 2020. It takes loss, love and hate… and turns it all into something beautiful. The torment from all angles in Tahoe Blue creates a heart-pounding, edge of your seat page turner that I devoured without regard to sleep. I had to know which path Brand would take. And to tell you the truth, I was torn. I absolutely wanted Brand to choose Carson but there was a part of me that ached for Teo. The way Carson is honest with Teo, along with his torment about hurting either Teo or Carson, proves the depth of integrity the man poses. When you reach the climactic ending, it will absolutely steal your heart. In summary, Tahoe Blue is one of my favorite reads for 2020. It takes loss, love and hate… and turns it all into something beautiful. Doing so in a way that is real and compassionate. A family will never be the same with the revelation of its hidden secrets. But, at the end of the day, it is stronger and better off for the discovery.

ARC provided by GRR for an honest review. Beautiful story about two boys who fall in love at a young age and find each other later in life to get their HEA. This was a wonderful second chance romance. It was perfect. First you have Brand, who was left behind with no explanation. He is obviously still completely in love with Carson and had not moved on. Well enter, Carson and he is the same way, except he has only ever wanted Brand and did not want to try anything with anyone else. Swoon!! It is ARC provided by GRR for an honest review. "You weren’t only my first love, Brand. You're my last too," Carson whispered. So, brief overview. Carson was a Hollywood actor who had left home unexpectedly, leaving his then boyfriend, now paramedic, Brand, dazed and confused. When Brand finally opened his heart and started falling for another man, Carson returns to their small hometown and upset the apple cart. I won't lie, I kind of knew what was going to happen for the start and I appreciate what the author did to get us to the end. These two kind of fell back into that holding pattern that still sparked between them, but the road was not easy. And when the going got tough, both had to make hard decisions that could tear them apart again. I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author through GRR.

Cue the heartache. Carson's an actor who goes home during a writer's strike. His fame made it tough for Brand to ever forget him, even if he could have. Their reunion involves some explanations, acceptance, and forgiveness. I love it all. Their story includes a homophobic father, as well as years of separation and years of secrecy. I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a lot of angst. Instead, it's a lot more of trying to win back one's true love. There is never a doubt these two belong together. All these years later, the pull between them is as strong as ever. Luckily for the reader, the reason Carson left town was for a valid reason. It's painful and definitely lead their lives on unwanted paths. But, that's what second chances are for. This is a short, quick read. Written in alternating 3rd person pov, the emotions of both men fully come to life. The author does a wonderful job with the setting, fully drawing the reader into the Lake Tahoe atmosphere. As well, Eden keeps the reader riveted with the nice tone and easy pace. Despite it's length, I never felt anything was missing. Tahoe Blue is a beautiful tale of grabbing onto second chances. This Eden French book is definitely a good choice when you're in the mood for a quick, tender-hearted tale of forgiveness and love. My first time reading this author, I look forward to see what comes next.

The chemistry was palpable between Brand and Carson which made for a good read.

The author realistically shows us the new relationship between Teo and Brand, and the attraction Brand feels for Teo; there's even a lengthy sex scene between them, which I skimmed (sorry, but really, I want to see the connection between the MCs, not between one of them and another guy, no matter how nice Teo was.) I liked Carson and Brand, but even though there's no cheating, and the whole thing with Teo was dealt with sensitively, I just couldn't get fully invested in their relationship after seeing Brand with Teo. He desperately wants a second chance and is determined to make it happen. I love how when Carson comes back, he puts everything on the line and basically hands all the reins to Brand. He lets everything happen at Brand’s pace. There were a couple of things that did bother me a little bit but not enough to make me dislike the book. Brand is trying to move in with his life with another person when Carson comes back and I feel like that person, Teo, gets involved with Brand a little hard and fast. I won’t give any spoilers but he really gets hurt and it isn't Brand’s fault. I felt bad for him and kinda hope that there might be a book someday about him and his happy ending. Also I would have liked a couple more chapters that included things like meeting friends and Carson’s official coming out in Hollywood or the awards party they attend. These are things that are alluded to but not actually seen. I really did enjoy this book though. It was well written and these characters were very easy to picture in my head. I got quickly invested with Carson because he had really been through a lot that nobody knew about. I admire how Carson moved on and healed from his abuse and trauma relating to why he left Tahoe but he also never forgot his love for Brand the whole time. I did read an ARC of this book.

4.5 Stars Tahoe Blue is such a beautiful story - it has everything. Great characters, great setting and is written brilliantly. It also just about broke my heart. Oddly enough it was Teo that broke my heart - I really felt for him. Speaking of Teo, he needs his own story and his own HEA!!!!!

Their individual journeys of self discovery was so well done. And you end up with 2 honorable men. Pardon the run -on sentences.

This book is steamy, sexy, and left me aching for more. The characters are so well written, they draw you into their longing to rekindle a love that burns vibrant in their hearts. I love Brand's little sister and the banter they share, it makes the story so well rounded. Ms. French really knows how to tug on the heartstrings, I love this book! Being in relationships after 7 years is more believable than 7 years of no sex but I was supposed to route for Brand and Carson not getting into Brand and Teo. Constant references to how great Teo is and how physically attracted Brand is to him were seriously out of place. It seemed like a set up for Teo's story but took a toll on the main story line. Also, some story lines were never addressed. If dinner with James and his wife ever happened? Did the girl saved by Brand survived? Rounded up since I liked the writing and was engaged into the story enough to continue through Brand/Teo relationships. Might check Teo story if there is a book about him - he was indeed a likable character.

This was a sweet book. Brand and Carson did go through some sad moments long ago but they grew up because of it. They found themselves and who they were meant to be. I believe that if Carson hadn’t had to go, they wouldn’t be able to see that they belong together and be together. I don’t think all those years ago they were mature enough to handle the relationship they were heading into and that the seven year gap of not seeing each other helped them gain wisdom, perspective and what they needed This was a sweet book. Brand and Carson did go through some sad moments long ago but they grew up because of it. They found themselves and who they were meant to be. I believe that if Carson hadn’t had to go, they wouldn’t be able to see that they belong together and be together. I don’t think all those years ago they were mature enough to handle the relationship they were heading into and that the seven year gap of not seeing each other helped them gain wisdom, perspective and what they needed to become so they can be together in a more permanent fashion. The heartache helped them grow and become adults. Brand was a paramedic and Carson a actor. Brand was a great character but he had a lot of anger and indecision when it came to his personal life. This was due to Carson all those years ago and to him still loving him and not knowing anything. He never got over him. So when he shows up after all those years apart, he did let his anger rise and come forth. He closed himself off and that in a way was hurtful for him. Yes he was in a relationship but he also needed closure and to let go so that his new relationship could thrive and not confronting his past wasn’t going to do that. So I was happy when he agreed to meet with Carson. Carson was a good guy. He loved his family and never stopped loving Brand. He was in a tough situation as a kid and did what he felt was best for everyone. He is back to see his family and confront all the consequences of his actions but also try to get Brand back. He didn’t expect it to be easy and he took all that everyone threw at him well. I loved how he didn’t push Brand but did things at his pace and not the pace Carson wanted. He let Brand find his way and let Brand’s heart dictate how things went. We saw them reconnect and let love take over. The only drama and angst in the book came from Brand and his insecurities and anger. The first time was understandable because he was angry and afraid that Carson would hurt him again. The second time was just Brand being a doof and I was glad he realized it. There was not really a love triangle in this book but a man who was attracted to Brand and understanding towards the situation he was in. I would have loved to see more about Teo’s past because it was alluded to and it was one of the reasons he understood what Brand was going through and why he was able to be so sweet about everything. Maybe a book about Teo will be in the future because I am curious about his past and why he is making amends. The story was sweet and a beautiful second chance romance between two best friends who had to find themselves and grow up before they could truly be together. They get a second chance and do not take it for granted but don’t jump in right away. They get to know each other and become friends once more. They let their souls find one another once again and that exploration is wonderful to see. A sweet second chance romance that has you smile and root for them to be together.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. When Carson returns home after 7 years, he hopes to reconnect with the only man he ever loved. But Brand isn't having any of it. Being ghosted for all the time Carson was away broke Brand, and now? Now, just as he is trying to move on, Carson reappears. I'm not quite sure, never am, to be honest, what I was really expecting from this book from the blurb, but it wasn't THIS! I loved this book! Loved that, all the time he was away, there wasn't anyone else, despite what the press said. Loved that, quite rightly, Brand was wary of Carson and what he wanted from Brand. LOVED that once Brand knew the truth as to why Carson left and didn't even call, he was all in to see what was left between them. I loved the way things went down with Brand's new beau. I wasn't sure I was liking the way that was going, to be honest, but Once Teo and Brand had talked, and laid everything out for Teo, I was (not happy, cos people were left heart broken) but happier with the way things were dealt with. Teo has a story to tell, I'm sure. There were comments and hints made here, and I have no clue as to what they all meant, so I do hope that Teo gets a story and we hear what it all meant. So PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE Ms French, write Teo's tale, okay?? Please?? Pretty Please?? It's deeply emotional in places, hawt and sexy in others. Heart breaking in places, but also so much happiness once they get their act together! First I've read of this author, I like the way she spins her tales! 5 full and shiny stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

Carson left for the bright lights and now he is a star on a successful TV show. The show is on a hiatus, which sees Carson return home for the first time since he left. Brand is rightly angry and cold towards Carson for the way he treated Brand. Carson didn't really expect to run into Brand again but he and his heart has never forgotten Brand. The reason for Carson's departure all those years ago is a shocking one and one outside of his control if he wanted to protect those he loves. Forgiveness and trust is hard to give but Brand must give it if they can be together again. Whilst it is obvious to any reader that Brand and Carson belong together, they have hurdles to overcome before they can reach that point. This was an incredibly well written book that was sensitive to the issues it raised. I read it all in one sitting as I wanted to witness their HEA together. ***Reviewed for LBM Book Blog***

He hopes he can make his mom and sister understand what caused him to leave, but he knows if there is even a smidge of hope he can reunite with his childhood best friend/soulmate he needs to take the risk. The reunion b/t Carson and Brand starts off on the wrong foot after a slight family emergency however, and Brand is so beside himself he angrily drives away after doing his job. Aside from his job as a paramedic, which he loves, Brand has been in relationship limbo for the past 7 years d/t Carson’s abrupt departure from his life. Just when he is starting to open himself up to the possibility of a new relationship is when Carson steps back into his life and throws his heart in a tailspin. Carson never pushes though, and despite the verbal lashing he gets from Brand’s bff, he patiently waits and hopes for Brand to choose him again. But, missed opportunities for communication and a near miss at a trauma scene almost cause these two men to once more fall apart. I was rooting for Carson and Brand the whole story, despite liking the other guy Brand had just started seeing as well. I just love a second-chance romance that doesn’t shy away from the ugly feelings in order to get to the satisfying HEA ❤️. I would definitely read more by this author.

They say life is what happens when you’re busy making plans. Brand is going to agree with that sentiment. This was the first book I’ve read by the author. I felt like it was well written, and the characters were likable and relatable. My heart ached for all three men, because even Teo was a good guy. No one was the bad guy. Life can be messy sometimes, and this is what life looks like. Overall I enjoyed the storyline, and I’m glad the author didn’t pursue the cheating angle that so easily could’ve happened. ***Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie for my reading pleasure. This is my first time reading a work from this author. As with any 2nd chance theme the plot consists of more than coming back home to correct past mistakes. But Brand is in for a rude awakening as Carson has made a successful life for himself as an EMT and he's finally taking the plunge back into an emotional commitment with someone else. This is the story of one man trying to correct his mistakes and win back the heart he so totally broke when he left without giving any reason or excuse for it. This does have the HEA that both men deserve, and I liked the progression of the story. This is my review for the ARC I was given.

When I read the blurb of this book, I was incredibly excited to read it. I absolutely love second chance romances! I did not understand why he didn't reach out to Brand after several years have past. I get the situation with his father back home, but not when he was living his own life in Hollywood. He did not need to stay estranged from Brand after he left. He could have reached out. I didn't buy into his reasoning. Second, I did not feel the chemistry between Brand and Carson as much as I did between Brand and Teo (Brand's best friend's assistant). Because I felt more with Brand and Teo, I could not fully get into Brand ending up with Carson. Third, there were a few moments within the writing that I found to be a bit repetitive. There were several times that Brand kept saying "You taste so good" to both of the men. Brand, seriously? Stop. I guess in the end, I felt more for Teo than I did for Carson. I hope Teo gets his own HEA as there was definitely a story there. *ARC provided and I have given my honest review*

There were a few situations that I felt were a little too rushed or made me wince, but not many. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters and the background. The story and the elements that kept the men apart were also unique. 4 stars and I recommend you one-click this book today!
