From USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy comes a second-chance romance featuring a cowboy hero who needs some serious redeeming, a serious heroine who needs some cowboy lovin', and a mischievous little boy who needs his parents to find their happily-ever-after. Clara From USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy comes a second-chance romance featuring a cowboy hero who needs some serious redeeming, a serious heroine who needs some cowboy lovin', and a mischievous little boy who needs his parents to find their happily-ever-after. She's prepared for anything... except for the second chance with her cowboy ex she never saw coming. Clara Carter is the brains behind Three Chicks Brewery. The oldest and most responsible of the Carter sisters, she doesn't have time for anything but taking care of her son and making sure her family's top beer, Foxy Diva, gets into bars across North America. Which means getting the brew in front of Colorado's biggest beer distributor. Unfortunately, that becomes tricky when the man in charge of distribution is none other than Sullivan Kenne, the cowboy who ran out on her seven years ago. Sullivan's life has been one wrong move after another. First, he tried to prove himself to his bastard father by signing a contract to play professional baseball, a choice Sullivan still regrets. Then he bailed on Clara, the only woman he's ever loved. Seeing her again makes Sullivan determined to right his wrongs. Unfortunately, he wasn't counting on one of those wrongs being a six-year-old son he never knew about. Reuniting with Clara and meeting his son is a shocking--and amazing--experience. But as much as Sullivan tries to return to his roots and be the stand-up cowboy of Clara's dreams, the reality is, she's having trouble trusting him. Luckily, Sullivan knows the way to Clara's heart, and he'll prove to her that a second chance with a cowboy is worth the risk.

They are a fabulous unit and so far, they have made fabulous romance journeys! Maisie’s story (Sassy Blonde) was about as emotional as any story can get, or so I thought because here comes Clara to just blow it out of the water! I am a sucker for any story with a child. You are already pulling at my heartstrings with the kid. Well, Stacey doubled down on the heartstring pulling with not only little Mason, but Clara and Sullivan as well. Sullivan Keen broke Clara’s heart and spirit seven years ago. But that was then, and this is now … You guys … this story had me all up in my feelings almost every page! I was either smiling or laughing, crying my eyes out or ridiculously hot and bothered *wink* lol It is the full package, written by an author I have adored for years! 4.5 STARS!

When Sullivan Keene left River Rock seven years ago without even letting his girlfriend know he was leaving, he had no idea, she was pregnant. Clara Carter didn’t think she’d ever see the father of her little boy, Mason again. When he does reappear, her only thought is to protect her son from the pain Sullivan inflicted on her when he left. But Sullivan’s last bar fight that resulted in his suspension from professional baseball for a month, also revealed that he needed to deal with the situation that drove him away from the town where he grew up. When he finds out he has a son, it becomes even more imperative that he deal with his past-and perhaps move toward the future with Clara and Mason. But that past is really horrific. Can he overcome it, and work out a relationship with a woman tied so completely to the town from which he fled? I loved Clara. In the previous books she came across as a little cold, but as both the older sister and a single mom, she had all the responsibility on her shoulders. She proved to be a warm, caring person who learns to understand Sullivan as a woman instead of a girl. Sullivan was awesome. In spite of his dysfunctional family life as a teen, he proves that he cares about others and seeks to protect the people he loves-even from himself. But when he finds Mason is his son, he steps up in the best way possible. This was a feel-good story with a lively plot and some fascinating characters. It dealt with the help that therapy can provide, as well as the need to face the past. Review copy provided for a voluntary review.

I found this one to be pretty predictable, yet it didn't bother me. I think why is because from the start Clara and Sullivan talked about their issues and there was no accusations about who wronged who. It was more of this is what happened, this is why it happened on my end, why I did what I did, now how can we live life going forward. For me that was refreshing, no blame, just we messed up, there is still love there, do we still want to pursue that, yes, then how do we do this. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review Feisty Red by Stacey Kennedy is a contemporary romance. It's the second book of the Three Chicks Brewery and it's about the oldest sister. She was the oldest, the brains behind their business, and also the mother of the six-year-old Mason. After the hard-worked they had done they found a distributor who was gonna help them put their top-selling beer, Foxy Diva, in every bar in North America. The only problem was that Ronnie, the distributor, was Sullivan's (Mason's dad) uncle. Sullivan and Clara were highschool sweethearts but one day seven years ago he left with not even a goodbye and never looked back. That had hurt her a lot but she became stronger for her son. Now her world was shaken by his arrival. She didn't know what to do with him but she knew that she had to protect her boy. Sullivan had come back to face his demons and get closure with her. He got more than he had hoped since he found out about his kid and he also got his girl back. After so many years they became a big happy family. This is such a sweet and emotional book. Just like the previous one it's well written, told by dual pov with great descriptions. The plot is simple and quite easy to follow. The subjects it touches are sensitive and the whole story brings out such an intensity that captivates you. It starts and ends with a bang. The characters are lovely and inspiring. Clara is such a strong, clever, and caring woman. She is very relatable and easy to connect with. Sullivan was an emotionally damaged person who deep down was a kind southern gentleman. One of my favorite moments was the revelation about Clara and his dad, it was one of the most emotional scenes. I had a hard time putting down this book so I read it in one sitting. ( I am very proud about it) I thoroughly enjoyed it and I highly recommend you to give it a shot. I would suggest reading the first book as well for a better understanding of the bond and the work the girls had done. I will rate it with 5 stars.

3.5/5⭐ [I received a digital arc for an honest review] Feisty Red is the third book in the Three Chicks Brewery by Stacey Kennedy. Sullivan walked out of River Rock to pursue his baseball dreams and escape his abusive father and breaking Clara's heart in the process. He wasn't in a healthy mental state back then as thought Clara better off without him. Since his fathers passing he's return to face his demons and get his head on straight. Learning he has a son brings his future into clarity and what he wants for his life. He will have to work hard to rebuild Clara's trust and make up for lost time. But when his life begins to have a negative impact on the two people he loves the most will he run again or fight for their future. "He felt tied to her, grounded by their history and the affection between them." Feisty Red was a sweet second chance romance with the right amount of steam. You could feel how much Clara and Sullivan cared for each other which made it confusing why neither one of them fought for the relationship they had. It seemed unbelievable that they let their connection just end the way it had. Their son was adorable and there were some really sweet family moments in the book between the three of them. I loved how Sullivan was working on his mental health for himself and the way he took responsibility for his behaviors. However, as a whole I did feel like the pacing was a bit fast between him, Clara and their son. I understand he was only there a month, and he was Masons father but I felt like he should have been more slowly introduced into his son life. Feisty Red is filled with charming characters and that small town vibe. I'm really enjoying the bond between the Three Chicks Brewery sisters and I'm looking forward to seeing what is going to happen with the final sister after that epilogue!

Whilst the affairs and success of the brewery are part of the story, there is less emphasis than there was when Maisie was running around festivals in the last book. It is a good backdrop though and reminds us of how serious minded Clara is, even if the book is mostly a lot of fun. I loved how this story acknowledged the past, helped both Clara and her high school sweetheart, unknowing father of her son, and famous baseball player, Sullivan move forward and give them a chance at a new future. He had so many demons that needed slaying and finally he got the chance. So many little things which were so vital to their getting a second chance make this book really special. It was the detail, the way that her sisters and their friends rally round and support them both. Mason is a sweet little boy, without being too cute. He is important, but not the focus of the story, even when being very endearing! Sullivan really dealt rather well with being an instant Dad of a 6 year old, it was pleasant surprise, which certainly helped Clara see that there was a chance of something special between them all. Very easy writing style, with lots of good humour, reconciliation with the past, a chance to lay some difficult family times away, and look to a much brighter, happier and loving future. Absolutely perfect reading, thank you Stacey Kennedy... and the set up for a fantastic new story, which I hope is coming soon!

He takes an opportunity to get a glimpse of the girl he left behind when he went to the majors by crashing her meeting with his uncle. Unsure of Sullivan’s reason for returning forces Clara to confront some of her biggest fears. Above all she knew that she had to protect her boy and her heart. If one thing for Clara is true it is she never stopped loving Sullivan. I was not prepared for them emotions in this book. The subjects it touches are sensitive and the whole story brings out such an intensity that enthralls you. The story will capture you from the first page. Clara is a complete badass in this book. She is the caretaker and protector over her clan, and she takes ownership of her mistakes and choices. Sullivan’s emotions and feelings are just as genuine as Clara’s. I loved every second with him. He isn’t perfect but he owns his work in progress and is making big strides to be better. This is a contemporary romance with a secret baby trope. While many hate this trope it is my favorite when done correctly. This was done so well. With valid reasons why Clara kept Mason a secret. She owns her choices and isn’t afraid to admit her faults. This was so well done. It felt authentic and true to life and circumstances. Stacey Kennedy has a magic to her writing. She brings all the emotions and sexy within her writing. Kennedy is an easy one Click for me.

Feisty Red is the second book in the Three Chicks Brewery series by Stacey Kennedy. Each book features a different Carter sister as they try to make their brewery successful also while finding love. In this book, the trope was done well, but Amelia was one "I do" away from moving on with another man in this book. I know some of my GR friends will wonder, so I will get it out of the way now. Both Sullivan and Clara moved on and slept with other people during their separation but neither got serious with someone else. I was very happy to find out that Clara was not waiting for Sullivan to come back and was not celibate while he was sleeping around. The author got points for having a heroine who actually tried to move on. The book is on the short side, so it was easy to read. Both characters were likable and I liked that they took some time to get to know each other again before sleeping together again. Sullivan had some interactions with Mason which was also a plus. What I liked the most about the book though is that both Clara and Sullivan had someone to tell them what they were doing wrong and made them face their problems instead of running from them (no pun intended). Overall, the book was surprisingly good for a second chance romance, but it made me have doubts about the third book which is a shame because I actually the series. I would recommend it, but once again keep in mind that the book is 183 pages long, so a lot of things happen fast.

It would have been far too easy to play up miscommunication, secrets and mistrust but instead, Clara and Sullivan work through their problems calmly and quietly - like grownups with their child’s best interests at heart. Sullivan’s childhood nearly destroyed him. Clara understands Sullivan’s struggles and she encourages him as he faces his demons and begins to work through his issues. The book addresses difficult topics but never feels too heavy. This second book isn’t as playful or as fun as the first but Clara and Sullivan both feel heartbreakingly real. I love the sense of community between the sisters and the people in their small town. There is a glorious sense of place in this series - rural Colorado is celebrated in lush descriptions and the sister’s experiences. I’m already looking forward to Amelia’s story.

This is a great second chance romance story, but it's so much more than that. It's a story of healing, forgiveness and love. Sullivan and Clara have great chemistry and their history only helps to add to their relationship. It was great to see them work through their pasts, look towards their futures and heal from their mistakes. I can't wait to see the next sister's story - the teaser is amazing!

I'm not a big fan of cowboys, but I do find myself loving these feisty sisters. Clara is the brains of Three Chicks Brewery, and a single mother. She had her heart broken a long time ago, so these days, she only makes time to make her son's life better. Imagine her shock when she comes face to face with that man who broke her heart into pieces, Sullivan, who has come home for a month after many years gone. Oh, and he's her baby daddy. His sob story didnt allow me to sympathize with him enough to get past that. I also felt the heroine basically gave in almost immediately to him so eh. I dont think authors think enough about these things. They throw tropes together without truly thinking about if a reader can see someone as redeemed if they go that route. All I kept thinking during his sob story was "I bet he was banging a model while she was having a baby" and then I am like eff him! 🤣

The journey the author took me on was sweet and the reconnecting of Clara and Sullivan shows that love can find it's way back home. Mason is over the moon his father is a famous baseball player. A cute kid. I also enjoyed the ending of the book which set up book 3. Book 3 looks to be rather interesting 3.5 stars for me.

Feisty Red is the second book in Stacey Kennedy’s Three Chicks Brewery series, and my feelings toward this one mirrored my feelings toward the first book in the series. As with Sassy Blonde, this was an enjoyable quick read. Although enjoyable, I had been hoping for a wee bit more. Although I would have liked a bit more depth, I was still hooked enough to finish this in a single sitting. All in all, an enjoyable quick read that has me curious about the next book in the series.

My first read by the author and this is a sweet second chance romance. This book is nicely written! Sullivan and Clara have history and after 7 years, he's back in the small town. Clara has been keeping the biggest secret of all though. And because of that Sullivan isn’t giving up on Clara again. If you love a good second chance romance story than I highly recommend this one! Clara is the responsible sister. She is the planner, the one who can get stuff done. So, while she and her sister are working especially hard to open and promote their new brewery, she isn't expecting to see the one person who might make her world tilt. Sullivan is back in a town he hates and left without looking back. But now that he sees his father's behavior in his own, he knows that it's time to face the past. What he doesn't expect is to find the one woman he left behind hasn't lost any appeal. Rather, she has gained it in spades. The past that melded these two together also tore them apart. Now, they will have to decide if what they had is worth fighting for. Mason is the one variable that doesn't waver. They will both do whatever it takes to protect Mason. This is a great second-chance romance story, but it's so much more than that. It's a story of healing, forgiveness, and love. Sullivan and Clara have great chemistry and their history only helps to add to their relationship. It was great to see them work through their pasts, look towards their futures, and heal from their mistakes. I can't wait to see the next sister's story – the teaser is amazing! Sarah – ☆☆☆☆ 4.5 stars I love the bond between the three sisters at the heart of this series and I love watching them build a seriously cool family business. The men they fall for are pretty great too. Clara’s story is a little bit darker than Maisie’s but it is impossible not to love the confident, capable eldest sister and her beautiful son. I have to admit that this book really wasn’t what I was expecting. I love that the author refuses to create drama for Clara and Sullivan. It would have been far too easy to play up miscommunication, secrets, and mistrust but instead, Clara and Sullivan work through their problems calmly and quietly – like grownups with their child’s best interests at heart. There is a glorious sense of place in this series – rural Colorado is celebrated in lush descriptions and the sister’s experiences. I’m already looking forward to Amelia’s story. Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆ This is the second book in the series, and I would definitely recommend that you read book one, as it is fabulous and gives you the set up at the brewery – and introduces Clara, who is the serious business-minded sister and lead in this lovely second-chance romance. Whilst the affairs and success of the brewery are part of the story, there is less emphasis than there was when Maisie was running around festivals in the last book. It is a good backdrop though and reminds us of how serious minded Clara is, even if the book is mostly a lot of fun. I loved how this story acknowledged the past, helped both Clara and her high school sweetheart, unknowing father of her son, and famous baseball player, Sullivan, move forward and give them a chance at a new future. He had so many demons that needed slaying and finally, he got the chance. So many little things which were so vital to their getting a second chance make this book really special. It was the detail, the way that her sisters and their friends rally round and support them both. Mason is a sweet little boy, without being too cute. He is important, but not the focus of the story, even when being very endearing! Sullivan really dealt rather well with being an instant dad of a 6-year-old, it was pleasant surprise, which certainly helped Clara see that there was a chance of something special between them all. Very easy writing style, with lots of good humour, reconciliation with the past, a chance to lay some difficult family times away, and look to a much brighter, happier, and loving future. Absolutely perfect reading, thank you, Stacey Kennedy... and the set up for a fantastic new story, which I hope is coming soon! Sullivan’s life has been all about baseball for years. As a professional baseball player, that is exactly how it’s supposed to be. But Sullivan’s past keeps haunting him and it’s time to go home. ‘Feisty Red’ was from the start definitely a fun read. Although this is book two in the series, I never felt like I missed information or was reading a second book. The author had a way of writing that made me want to keep on going and the setting of the three sisters running a brewery was definitely interesting and new to me. The main characters Clara and Sullivan where fun to get to know. Clara is this kind but tough, hardworking woman who is determined to give her son the best life possible. And she is doing a great job at that. I loved how she was as a mother. She was kind, but had her rules and she raised her son well. He definitely didn’t seem to miss out on anything. He might not have a father figure hanging around, but his aunts definitely seemed to make up for that. Sullivan’s character seemed very troubled, but he also didn’t seem to be as bad and tough as he believed he was. I enjoyed getting to know his character and I loved how he was with Clara and their little boy. I didn’t understand every decision he made, but I definitely loved how determined he was to make things right with Clara and their boy. The only thing I didn’t get was the fact that he was supposedly a Cowboy if you believed the book description. Well.. I don’t know a lot about Cowboy’s, but he seemed to be a baseball player and not cowboy. But what do I know?! ‘Feisty Red’ was a fun, romantic read that had a fast pace. Sometimes the pace might have even been a little to fast if you ask me. I for one think Clara, forgave Sullivan for disappearing very fast and their relationship seemed to rekindle even faster. But overall this was a very enjoyable read.

Great second book in the series, cannot wait for what promises to be an explosive third book with Beckett and Amelia!

A second chance romance with the sweetest little boy who totally stole my heart.  I was torn when I first met Sullivan. At least that was the impression I was given, but once I began learning about Sullivan's demons and the reason he left, the young man he was is much more forgivable. Sullivan has returned to River Rock to make amends and Clara, the woman he loved so long ago, is at the top of that list. He never imagined she'd have a son, a son that looked so much like him. Sullivan has a lot to make up for and Clara is hesitant to jump back in to the Sullivan bubble. Mason, her son, is all she cares about and making sure he's safe is her top priority. When Sullivan leaves, because she knows he will, will crush her son, but keeping Sullivan away from his son is no longer an option. Clara won't fall for the man again, she can't afford to break when he leaves. She has a business, a son, and a future that she has to stay strong for and she won't allow Sullivan to make her weak all over again. Mason is the sweetest little boy. Children are so adaptive and are so easy to forgive and love one others in their lives. I LOVE them in every story I read and he is no exception. You are going to love this little boy and the joy he brings, not only to his parents, but to your hearts as he helps bring them closer together.

She had the perfect man, Sullivan and the love you only find once in a lifetime. When Sullivan gets recruited by the Boston Red Sox to follow his dreams of becoming a professional baseball star, things start to fall apart. Sullivan leaves everything behind including Clara. When Clara discovers that she’s pregnant right after Sullivan leaves, she tries to tell him but events happen that prevent it from happening. Now, years later, Sullivan returns after being suspended for a month and finds that his once quiet little town isn’t so quiet anymore. He’s determined to find some closure with his return home but finds that things with Clara may end up being more complicated than they used to be. I love the dynamic of the Carter sisters and that carries through with this book as well. The sisters are stronger than ever when they are together and they protect what’s theirs. When Sullivan returns, the sisters come together to protect their nephew but also their sister. Sullivan has other plans and wants to win back Clara and also get to know his son. The strength of the character’s feelings comes through clear as a bell in this book and how far they both come is clear. I love the message that is portrayed in this book, that mental health is always important no matter who you are. I can’t recommend this book or this series enough!

When Sullivan pops back into their life, the first thing she thinks is she needs to protect her son from all of the pain and hurt from when she and Sullivan parted. Sullivan has been playing for Boston Red Sox the last several years, but after the last bar fight he got involved in, he's dealt a suspension for a month. After this last fight he realizes that he's been pushing his anger, resentment and pain from his life before he left deep down that is finally exploded into what he sees as rage, and he hates to see this, as it's the exact reason he left River Rock 7 years ago, because of his fathers rage and anger. He returns to fix not only himself but any relationships from his past that has suffered. This book had me feeling every emotion. I laughed, smiled, got angry and cried....a lot. 🤧 This was my first book by Stacey Kennedy and I throughly enjoyed it and plan on reading the first book and then the 3rd when it comes out in Summer 2021.

Determined to move their brewery to the next level, Clara sets out to get Colorado’s biggest distributor on board. The only problem is that it turns out to be Sullivan, the man who left her years ago and broker her heart. Sullivan regrets many of the decisions he has made in his life, perhaps his biggest regret is walking away from Clara. Now years later he finds out that he is a father to a six year old son he knew nothing about. Can he become the man and father that they deserve or is he destined to fail again? Can he prove himself and in turn earn Clara’s trust and her love? Can these two broken souls come back together and become complete? There were times I laughed, times I teared up and times I swooned. I was on the edge of my seat hoping that the rocky journey they embarked on would bring them all to the happily ever after that they deserve.
