Love this series! I don't know how Daniel keeps this series fresh and fun and better and better but he manages to do just that. The characters are funny and quirky but realistic with layers, depth, and simplicity and complexity at the same time. It's interesting to see Hope's character grow, dealing with her past and gaining the courage to move forward. The mystery is the icing on the cake. Thanks, Daniel, for pouring your heart into the Hope Walker series. I begin reading the newest installment Love this series! A Hopeless Journey came out a few months later than anticipated but, it was well worth the wait. Departing Hopeless, Idaho, Hope Walker spends the majority of this book in Appleton Falls, Nebraska, originally to follow a lead regarding her (estranged!) mother but (of course) gets herself involved in a murder investigation. Even though I did miss the regular Hopeless residents, the members of the Appleton Falls community were every bit as entertaining and I do hope that we cross paths with them a A Hopeless Journey came out a few months later than anticipated but, it was well worth the wait. I can’t wait for the next book in this serious and highly recommend them to anybody who likes a good cozy murder mystery - with more than a few laughs.

When it came, I missed so many of the other characters. Hope leaves Hopeless on a quest to find her mother. All new - and frankly - good characters are introduced in the Nebraska town of Appleton Falls. But there is none of the tension of the prior books. Fantastic! How I just love this series, it’s a favorite of mine. Hope ends up traveling to Nebraska to hunt down a lead on her mother and makes some new friends and even solves a murder, while there. It’s always hilarious, always fun and the mystery is always excellent. I’m hoping that her and a certain sheriff will finally get it together.
