Xavier Parker has the worst friends in history. When a bet leads him to donning a beaver suit that’s had better days, he wasn’t thinking he’d run into Sadie Baylor—the captain of a 90’s all-girl’s pro video gaming team. He also didn’t think she’d be roping him into pretending to be her boyfriend. It’s just a little white lie until Sadie’s ex says their company is on the verge of bankruptcy, and if Sadie doesn’t get this contract from a leading gaming company it’s all over. Now, Sadie and Xavier are faking a lot of things—just not their feelings for each other.

A Geek Girl’s Guide to Kissing a Video Gamer by Bree Livingston (5 stars) This was a delightful story! Sadie and Xavier had insecurities that were entirely too relatable and it made them believable, sympathetic characters. The way they met had me laughing! Their story was sweet and fun with interactions with jealous ex’s fueling the romance. I ended this book with a big smile on my face. It’s about time that nerds and video gamers are represented in romance! Yay, Bree Livingston! *poor, **ok, ***go A Geek Girl’s Guide to Kissing a Video Gamer by Bree Livingston (5 stars) This was a delightful story! When two geeks (Sadie Baylor & Xavier Parker) meet at Dallas comic con, pretending to date turns into more than a game. Forty-year-old Sadie Baylor is fun and fit. This, a fun story, kept me interested from the first scene. Xavier in a beaver suit. The characters were engaging and ones the reader would want to be around. I'm not a gamer but this unique plot made it exciting. When two geeks (Sadie Baylor & Xavier Parker) meet at Dallas comic con, pretending to date turns into more than a game. This is such a gleeful story with a twist. I expected a romance because it was in the “Sweet Kisses” anthology that pre-publishing sales benefited special dogs and their people. I wasn’t expecting such a captivating cast of characters, engaging storyline and entertaining dialogue. This one had it all. Plus it was fun to read.

Cute and quirky characters with lots of humor Loved this book, only complaints being it was too short and Kim needed down a notch or two:) I liked how the humor was there from the very start of the story; along with the characters having flaws to work through. It is a good, quick and clean story. Highly recommend.

This story was a great HEA but with showing the characters that both had some "work" to do with themselves. It was great and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this great book. Such a cute book. It took me 2 hours to read, I was completely invested. I’m such a sucker for a good love story and even more so when conventions and video games are involved.
