This was a fun and entertaining afternoon read for me. Grace is a protagonist that I can relate to and Covenstead, VT sounds like the kind of place that could provide endless entertainment for those who wish magic was real.

This book was unlike any of the other author's books. This is a book in a new series. It was interesting, mysterious, intriguing, suspenseful, gripping and kept you guessing until the end of the book. The book was a page turner... I highly recommend this book and yes I will read it again. I look forward to reading this book in print format sometime in the future. **Please Note** I received a free Digital ARC Of This Book in exchange for my honest review. Amorette Anderson has done it again! She has created the perfect small town; one where I would enjoy living. Covenstead is a quaint, self-sufficient town hidden away in the woods. In fact, one can’t find it unless the manifestation council sends you an invitation! Grace is ready for a change in her life. She just turned fifty; broke up with her partner; ended a nursing job, and her lease is up on her condo. Her birthday celebration included just her pit, Lucky. She picks it up to see a job listing for a full time nurse in a nearby place, one she’s never heard of. Not normally spontaneous, Grace nevertheless heads for the town. Be careful what you wish for! It might just manifest in your life in ways you could never imagine! Visit Covenstead and join the magic.

Insulting This story was an insult to middle aged women, nurses and dogs. I should know I am a middle aged women who has been a nurse for 35 years and an avid dog lover. It is juvenile in both context and writing style. There is no meat to the story. There is no facts in what a nurse actually does. The lame attempts makes a nurse look like a doctor’s hand-maiden. The characters are one dimensional. None are riveting reads but this one I had to force myself to finish it was so predictable and just plan bad.

I'm moving to Covinstead!!! I'd give it a 6th star if it was available. Nice to have a heroine who's not a teeny bopper! Loved Grace, and Lucy her Pittie. The whole idea of ending up in this here to for unheard of town, and having Grace come to terms with otherwordly happenings was great. The plot winds back and forth and sideways, with mysterious happenings along the way. Nice little mystery. Unusual cast of characters. Read it! You'll love it. I'm moving to Covinstead!!! Cute story overall It was overall a good story. I like reading about women finding their strengths and new paths at all stages of life, not just early years. I love that she has a pit bull, but I am disappointed that the author included the myths about pitties having "locking jaws" and "stronger jaws", which has been scientifically discredited. Harmful myths like that are part of why the is still all much stigma about the breed. Cute story overall It was overall a good story. I enjoyed this story though it may seem rather silly to some people. I think it is comical how Grace, who is out of a job, suddenly gets offered a job that doesn't require her nursing skills. She has to learn how to be a detective & how to solve the mystery of the nutty squirrels & a bear that also goes nuts. I enjoyed this story though it may seem rather silly to some people. This was different, I'll give it that. There are several bits of the worldbuilding that could use some explaining or justification, and some more depth of characterisation would be nice, but I am intrigued by the idea of investigation being understood as part of her new role and how that changes up the dynamics. Not thrilled with the bait and switch with the (not actually) gay character, but I saw it coming. This was different, I'll give it that. Grace and Lucky , a refreshing new team. Wonderful new series by one of my favorite authors. I live Grace and Lucky. It's refreshing to find a midlife heroine who is her own person, and open to a new way of life. I look forward to spending many happy days in Coven stead. Grace and Lucky , a refreshing new team. Good read This is a good storyline about a 50 year old woman who is starting over in a magical town. The characters are well developed and the conversations flow naturally. The plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put the book down. Looking forward to the next book.

Pop & pot This book establishes the main character into a magical town. I love that Grace has Lucky. I could imagine the contents of the white bag with all of my senses. What a marvelous idea. Good story - lots of excitement.

A new job. Grace just lost her nursing job and was moving to a hotel with Lucky, her pit bull mix. Out of nowhere a job ad for a registered nurse fell into her lap. In the spur of the moment Grace heads to the job address and gets a lot more than she was expecting.

I really enjoyed this book. It was about a travel nurse who takes a position in a magical town. I’m a nurse and you don’t see a lot of those in mysteries which is why I chose it to read. The storyline was clever and very enjoyable-can’t wait for the next one.
