3.5 stars After getting unwell Lucifer landed in a hospital when he wakes up with a beautiful doctor beside him. The spark is there. Lucifer wouldn’t be Lucifer if he didn’t recover in a fast tempo. Adam didn’t hear from his father in five years and now he commands him to come home because his brother will be initiated at the church in a few weeks. It didn’t sit well with his father Adam being a doctor instead of a church leader. They are hugely homophobic and it’s all very painful. Adam tries everything to save the people who are ill from a deadly virus. Lucifer is head over heels with Adam and wants to help him. He feels guilty of all this darkness and wants to help, his Father has all the answers. Only he speaks in riddles. I had mixed feelings about this story. I enjoyed it, absolutely! It was a fantasy only it didn’t felt like a fantasy. I’m not sure how to explain. But the figure Lucifer didn’t click with me. While reading I had to put my biased idea of Lucifer aside. The whole story was diverse, It was entertaining, painful, hot and endearing. So a bit of everything. We can see the ugliness of fanatic religion and opinions which should never exist or expressed. Also the short-sight of those religious, ugh I’m flabbergasted by the release time of this story, in the middle of the pandemic, this story is about the disease, a virus, quarantine, and people dying. Divine against Evil - but who is the Divine and who is Evil.

A solid addition to the series. Lucifer and Adam were well-written and they had an interesting relationship that I enjoyed seeing unfold. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I went into this story looking forward to the premise of Lucifer atoning whilst being on earth and falling in love. However, his presence brings about illness and he searches out ways to stop it whilst the doctor in charge, Adam, fights to save his patients and also his attraction to Lucifer. Adam is from a deeply religious family and with his father’s voice constantly in his head, he attempts to stay away from Lucifer. It’s clear that he struggles a lot with his attraction to men and how he grew up but there is something that he feels from the start whenever the two men are together that slowly builds up with looks, comments and touches fuelling the fire. Lucifer also struggles but with something far different as he was bound to earth when God kicked him out of heaven. Regardless of how many years he’s been here, it’s still hard for him to connect to those around him, especially his son who he’s recently reconnected with and they’re slowly rebuilding their relationship. When he finds himself attracted to Adam and it’s difficult to stay away from the man, he questions what he thought he knew about himself and how he lives on earth. It did take me a little while to get into the book. This may be due to not having read book one in the series where certain relationships are established but it soon becomes clear with who means what to who. There’s a lot of emotion to go through for both men as they experience internal struggles along with the stresses of what is happening in their town. Adam’s family make for hard reading as they, especially his father, expect him to think and act a certain way. Of course, it’s up to Adam to show them who he truly is. Lucifer’s relationships with others in the book show how hard it is for him to connect with others, none more so than his son. When he has to reciprocate with feeling, it’s something extremely foreign to him and hard to express. The plot of the book is interesting with aspects of heaven, Lucifer’s fall from grace, and then a health scare turning into the possibility of a plague. All of these things wove together to create problems that Lucifer and Adam were faced with. It did feel like Lucifer took a long time to get to the point where he took action to try and solve the issues at hand. There are a good group of characters included alongside the MC’s. They’re all involved throughout the story, helping each other and wanting to support in any way they can. One little girl is there and just pulled on my heart as she draws Lucifer out of his shell when around her. I did enjoy the book overall. There was a lot of back and forth between the two men, and then Lucifer walked off quite a lot with not much to show for it so I occasionally found myself frustrated at him but also with Adam once or twice as he dealt with his family. Once I got into the story it moved at a good pace and held my attention. I would probably recommend reading book one, Immortal Scars, first as it will help with relationship connections and a couple of plot points. I received an ARC from Paranormal Romance Guild and am happily giving a review.

The story follows Lucifer and Dr Adam Colton, the story is based round these two character and each discovering who they are, who they want to be, all the while falling for one another. This is a Paranormal Romance if the name Lucifer didn’t give that away, cause who names their kid Lucifer? LOL... this was even said in the book, which I found funny. The other characters in the book are diverse, and I’m sure if your here you are aware this is a M/M Paranormal Romance. This was my first time reading a M/M romance, as I’m into M/F, so even if you have never read a M/M romance I can surely recommend this book as being a good read, and it’s part of a series that’s still on going.

Lucifer: Yes he is thee Lucifer, his character is believable and based around the atmosphere of this story. You get to see him in a somewhat family setting as he has a sun in this story.

Dr. Adam Colton: He’s a doctor that’s very dedicated to his job and cares for his patients. He has to deal with his family’s disapproval of his life choices.

Both Characters must deal with demanding Fathers, while trying to over come the terrible sickness plaguing the world. There are other characters in this story that I’m sure will get their own book in the series, so I’m not going to name any of them in this review but they are all well down, believable personalities and relationships.

The Book Cover: I really like the cover, which was designed by the Author, it’s very fitting and gets you even more connected with the two leads. Bravo to the talented Author.

Chapter Layout: I really liked how the Author did the chapters in this book, you will not get confused as to who is leading the chapter, the 1st person POV works out well in this setting. Each chapter is named after the character that’s leading it.

What I didn’t like: Honesty there wasn’t much I didn’t like, only thing I can think of is I didn’t care for how the day was won. I think I expected something else, it wasn’t bad it’s just I though it would be different, so I can’t really count it as a dislike, so much as my perspective.

A.L. Williams wrote some serious subjects in this book all the while immersing you in a fictional supernatural world, I must also applaud the author on his sentence structure, as well as his dialogue. There’s some making out and sex in this romance ( obviously), and A.L. Doesn’t disappoint, he can really write strong, detailed sex scenes, that will have you turning on a fan lol. I recommend this book to anyone in the mood for a intriguing M/M Paranormal Romance.

Okay so here’s the thing. This book was written before everything with Covid19 happened so you have to suspend some disbelief while reading it and not comparing the situation that happens in this book to what is going on right now. That being said when I read the first book in the series I was concerned about the character of Lucifer and the entire mythology of the Bible and stuff because so many people have a very set mind about how Lucifer or Gabriel or the horsemen, etc are. Williams takes a lot of liberties and crafts those stories and characters in their own way that works for this story and it’s characters. It’s an interesting delve into it because of the character of Adam and his conflict with being gay and being raised by a very very very religious family. It makes the contrast between him and Lucifer and interesting dynamic. I will warn, there is child death in this so for those of you triggered by that, here is your warning. I wasn’t expecting that and was really hoping for a different outcome when it came to that specific plot line. I do like how Williams peppers in new characters that I know they are saving for bigger plots in future books So I’m already intrigued by what we are gonna get for Sebastian. I know book three is supposed to involve more of Hayley and perhaps more Gabriel? I’m lookin forward to how this universe is going to expand.

The devil is real... only he isnt much like the picture that has been painted of him. Adam is in grave denial of the attraction between him and Lucifer is it worth his mortal soul to find out if what he feels is true, just how can he act on his needs when his patients should come first. What is it with the Adam and Eden that keeps pulling Lucifer back? With an unexpected visit help with a cure? Both Adam and Lucifer have had different outcomes when dealing with their father's demands..Can they heal each other enough to forge a new life and outcome of the destruction that is landed in their town? Hopeful that books will be coming for Ben, Hayley and Danny. these characters need theirs story told also.

More complete in many ways than the first book, this second part continues the paranormal sequences loosely based on biblical writings, in a very different light than expected. Much about the background story of origins, creation, and light vs dark are completely rewritten, yet still contain recognizable elements of one of western culture's most recounted beliefs. Although ending in an intriguing cliffhanger leading to the third part, this part of the story is complete in itself. This has to be my favorite book in this series. Lucifer and Adam are at their peak of Desperation, broken and hopeless. They need to rely on eachother's strength to fight for what they want. This was so good! A highly enjoyable and entertaining read. This has to be my favorite book in this series. Lucifer and Adam are at their peak of Desperation, broken and hopeless.
