This group of three Christian romance novellas is a fun, quick read of second chances and late starts to dating. I have read Denise Hunter's books and always enjoy them. A trip to Pennsylvania for Allie's grandparents' 50th anniversary gives Allie and Luke a chance to spend time together and maybe heal their broken relationship. I liked Luke and wanted to shake Allie at times although her parents were partly to blame. This is the first time that I have read Melissa Ferguson. Like Denise's story, Pining for You is a story about Skye and Theo, a couple who broke up years ago and are now thrown together by circumstances. They are in a position to mend their differences from the past. However, there are a lot of misunderstandings and hurts to overcome. Can it happen? In Kathleen Fuller's He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not, we visit Maple Falls, Arkansas (from Hooked On You) where Sophie, owner of a flower shop, and Joe, high school teacher and coach, have known each other since kindergarten but aren't friends. Both are ready for a relationship that might lead to marriage. Can they get together? They certainly have a rough start. This was probably my favorite of the three stories because I liked both characters and it was fun to watch their relationship progress. I received a complimentary ARC from Thomas Nelson Publishers and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

Short and sweet novellas that can each be read in just a couple of hours. The first 2 are second-chance romances and of the three, Denise Hunter’s and that racoon have to be my favorite. 🦝

This Time Around is a fun collection of second chance stories. If you are looking for a quick, clean contemporary romance novella, any of these three stories could be a good choice. I enjoyed all three of them. The first two novellas were stories where the main characters received the chance to right the wrongs of years earlier, forgive each other, and find love together again. The third novella involves two people who knew each other all through school, yet were never in a romantic relationship. This Time Around is a fun collection of second chance stories. What I Loved: From start to finish, these three stories were the perfect fit for my weary little mind. I cannot praise this one enough. It had all the elements I look for in a relaxing, summer read. Location: Smalltown USA. More specifically, mountains! I loved the cozy mountain settings. Lots of trees and a bit of wildlife. From the setting, to the people of the setting, I felt right at home and welcomed in their story world. Lots of trees and a bit of wildlife. From the setting, to the people of the setting, I felt right at home and welcomed in their story world. Romance: Each novella contained a perfectly seasoned romance, all of them a second chance of sorts. One had a fun road trip, another a big secret, and another a really bad first impression. It’s not always easy to write a solid novella but these were expertly done. The chemistry was there, but the stories never felt rushed. Spiritual thread: There was something in each story drawing you back to the Lord and keeping everything nice and clean. The characters clearly lived Christian lifestyles. Since each story is a novella, that makes this collection bite-sized as well as light and breezy. Honestly, I can’t think of a better summer read to recommend, and I’ll certainly be rereading it myself later. Rating and Recommendations: I’m giving This Time Around 5 stars. I highly recommend it to those looking for Christian Contemporary, Second chance romance, or romance novellas. ~ I received a copy from NetGalley. All thoughts are my own. This book has three short romantic stories by three different authors. The stories are clean and sweet and I could picture them all being a Hallmark movie. I enjoy books like this because it gives someone who has never read a particular author a glimpse into their writing. The authors are Denise Hunter, Melissa Fersuson and Kathleen Fuller. *I was given a copy of this book by Thomas Nelson Publishers and this is my honest opinion.

What a delightful trio of novellas this way! I thoroughly enjoyed each story. I have long been a fan of Denise Hunter's work, so I pretty much knew hers would be good. I've read the second author a time or two and the third none at all. I really enjoyed their contributions. This would make a great vacation read. Neither are very long and all are satisfying. This Time Around is a great collection of romances! All three stories are so romantic and perfect for romance readers. A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter is probably my favorite out of the stories. It centered around Allie who is enlisted to drive her grandparent's 57' Chevy to her parent's house for her grandparent's anniversary party. She is the youngest in the family and a free spirit so her mother always makes her feel incapable of completing everyday tasks. She wants to prove to her family that she can be trusted to get the truck from point A to point B. Of course, things don't go according to plan and needs to find someone who can drive a stick shift. She ends up having to call Luke, the man who broke her heart oh so many years ago. Luke is very closed off and is shocked to hear from Allie. He agrees to go on this road trip with her. Their journey is full of ups and down yet their chemistry still shines through. I loved their story and getting to know these characters. I give A Summer Detour 5 stars. It's a second chance romance that left me rooting for Allie and Luke the entire time. They are so different but readers will see how perfect they are for each other.

While some of the plot points felt clichéd and predictable, the journey was still enjoyable. Also, there were several genuine laugh out loud moments, which I always enjoy! (Keep an eye out for a raccoon and Grandpa's hearing difficulties!) The chemistry between Allie and Luke was spot on (this is a Denise Hunter novella, after all). It's a great way to spend an hour or two of your time. 4 stars. Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson This is a sweet second chance romance. The romance between Skye and Theo was nice but not incredibly gripping. I was actually most interested in learning about what was going on with Skye's dad! I appreciated that there were serious issues at play, and the conflict between Skye and Theo stemmed from some of those issues - it brought an element of "realness" to the story. I enjoyed reading this novella, though it's not one that will stick with me. 3 stars. He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller Oh my goodness! The only thing I've read by Kathleen Fuller in the past is a few of her Amish novels and novellas, back when I was still reading Amish fiction more than a decade ago ... but this novella is spectacular! It's not overly complex; there aren't giant twists and turns, but it's oh so delightful and romantic. I loved Sophie (probably because I could see a bit of myself in her), and Joe was so great. Two weeks after reading it, I'm still thinking about it ... and to me, that's the mark of a good story. 5 stars. Disclosure of material connection: I received this book from the publisher. This Time Around is a collection of three novellas that feature second chance romances. From best friends to old flames, Denise Hunter, Melissa Ferguson and Kathleen Fuller give their characters a second shot at love. Notes, despite the Christian publisher and authors, these novellas do not reference faith, God or Christianity. A Summer Detour is the first and my favourite in the collection. Probably not surprising as it’s by Denise Hunter and I love her writing style. In A Summer Detour Allie begs her family for a chance to prove herself and is tasked with driving her grandparents’ beloved restored Chevy to their anniversary party. The only problem is that she can’t drive manual. Luke Fletcher is the only one she can think of who might be able to help - her parents’ neighbour and the man who broke her heart years ago. She’s kept her distance since then but hours in the car, a hail storm, detour, dog with digestion problems and other mishaps later, maybe she and Luke can sort through the hurt and find a way to a future together. This novella is light and funny, yet I really felt for the way Allie believes her parents don’t trust her or see her as capable. Luke has always seen Allie’s worth and this road trip is the perfect opportunity for him to redeem himself in Allie’s eyes and prove he’ll always be there for her. Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson is the second book the in collection and another novella I really enjoyed. Again, mishaps and humour bring our two characters together. Skye has returned home to the farm her parents work at, appalled by the conditions they are living in and the low salary her father receives. The man to blame is her childhood best friend, farm owner and once boyfriend, Theo Watkins. Theo has always been better suited to the boardroom than outdoors, but when Skye’s father is injured, he rushes to the farm and is shocked to find that Skye has returned home. Theo and Skye share so much history. Working together (well, Skye works and Theo freaks out about snakes, spiders, bears and other things that might get him), Theo knows this is his chance to prove to Skye the mistakes are in the past and he is the man for her, but Skye is scared history will repeat itself and she’ll be left hurt. The history Theo and Skye share shine through this book and make their quick reunion so poignant and it’s so easy to see them fall back together. They are very sweet together and the humour in the book, as well as the deeper topics touched upon make this a very enjoyable novella. It’s also worth noting that Theo is black and it is so utterly refreshing to finally, finally!! have some diverse characters in mainstream Christian fiction. He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not is the third novella in the collection. Written by Kathleen Fuller, in this story Sophie and Joe (independently) have both decided it’s time for them to start dating. Sophie owns the local florist and is approached by both Joe and handsome Landon. Joe is a coach at the high school and he knows Landon is bad news. Sadly his attempt to ask Sophie out and warn her about Landon seems to backfire and she is left mad at him. It doesn’t take long for him to try again and he wants to prove to Sophie that they would be good together. The timing and backstory of this book fell flat and it was hard to believe these characters had lived in the same town for so long, written each other off and then so suddenly fell in love. We get a marriage within two months!!! After hardly knowing each other!! They only spend one date together. Also, the treatment of bees in this book is horrible. Bees are so important for our world and these characters are so quick to want them dead. Bees should never be killed with pesticide (for so many reasons, not least because their numbers are in decline). Even if they are the Africanised bees and not European honey bees (the characters would have been unable to tell) they should have been removed and not attacked and killed. It’s things like this, that a few minutes of research would have made clear was so wrong, along with a quick and unrealistic romance that made this story my least favourite of the collection. The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own. In A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter, you’ll meet free-spirited Allie Adams, who undertakes a road trip to deliver her grandparents’ newly restored ’57 Chevy in time for their fiftieth anniversary party . . . along with Luke Fletcher, the former boy-next-door who callously crushed her heart. My thoughts: Denise Hunter is one of my favorite romance authors and this novella was adorable. I simply loved it. Second chance at love and yet the road to happiness was paved with unexpected potholes. I laughed. I cried. I didn't want the story to end. In fact I went back and read it again. Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson invites you to a cozy Virginia mountain town where Christmas tree farm owner Theo Watkins III has the opportunity to drop everything for one weekend to play farmer and potentially win back the heart of his childhood best friend, Skye Fuller. Only problem? He’s the kind of man who drives a Tesla, not a tractor. My thoughts: This is a relatively new author for me. In fact this is only the second story of hers that I've read. I can't say that I'm really a fan. A gentleman farmer and a farm girl what an unlikely pair. I learned more about spiders than I ever wanted to know. There were some funny moments. Last but not least, He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller will transport you to a small town in Arkansas where thirty-five-year-old Sophie Morgan has spent years making her flower shop a success. But when this workaholic decides she’s ready to make time for dating again, she finds herself with two handsome men vying for her attention. My thoughts: the story was kind of nondescript. It was pleasant, a good read, but nothing about it really stands out. Maybe that was the intent. Love when you're least expecting it. Whether your perfect romance involves rows and rows of Fraser firs and white pines glinting in the moonlight, childhood love that never ends, or a second chance at a happily ever after, you’re sure to find a story within this collection to warm your heart any day of the year. Pinning For You by Melissa Ferguson Such a sweet story of Theo and Skye finding each other and getting past previous hurts after many years. Romantic. Loved it! This one cracked me up. Enter Sophie and two guys who suddenly want to date her after a decade of not dating so she could focus on building up her business. Landon and Joe. Landon is the rich smooth-talking lawyer, and Joe is the awesome teacher and coach. However, Joe makes a terrible first impression. I loved this sweet story and the fun and romantic tension that is part of the love story between the best of the two men and Sophie. Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

I am a big fan of novellas and This Time Around is a wonderful novella collection. It includes “A Summer Detour” by Denise Hunter, “Pining for You” by Melissa Ferguson, and “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not” by Kathleen Fuller. Each story has characters who knew each other in the past and have met again as different people in the present. If you have read any of the authors’ other stories you will recognize some characters and settings and feel like you are coming home. This Time Around by Denise Hunter, Melissa Ferguson, and Kathleen Fuller is the perfect vacation read. With three short romances, this book is perfect for reading in short periods while relaxing. Each story is unique but the themes of hope and second chances definitely seeps through all of them, making this an upbeat and fun book. I thoroughly enjoyed each story, and I would have purchased each one separately— this really sets this collection apart for me. Typically, I love one or two stories in a collection of novellas but not all. I loved all three in this book and am eager to read more by two of the authors that I was not familiar with previously. I recommend this book highly and think readers of Christian romance will love it, too. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

A huge thanks to Thomas Nelson for my e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. This Time Around is three novellas if I must say myself by three great authors about second chance romance and yes they may have changed my mind regarding second chance romance. The first book in the story  A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter. She enlists the help of the guy that broke her heart. It was the sweetest second-chance romance. Pining for Youby Melissa Ferguson is a cozy novella set in a mountain town and Theo who has the best job ever (he is a Christmas tree farm owner *read it and call me out*). He goes on a mission that only he can do that is to win the heart of his childhood sweetheart. The last novella is He Loves Me; He loves me not by Kathleen Fuller is a never too late to find love type of novella about thirty-five-year-old Sophie Morgan who decides it's now time to find love. Cue the confetti because she ends up with more than one suitor. All the novellas are swoon-worthy and totally ideal for a summer night or rainy day

He may have grown up there, but he’s a city boy as they come, whereas Skye is comfortable doing the chores that need done. Some past hurts need to be worked through for these two. I enjoyed reading this collection of novellas. My favorite was the one by Denise Hunter. The raccoon scene had me laughing. The story was fun and the romance sweet. I also really liked the one by Kathleen Fuller. I loved that Joe was such a gentleman.

Short and sweet, these novellas will appeal to contemporary romance fans who enjoy clean and wholesome stories. These stories stand alone, although you might recognize some of the characters if you've read Denise Hunter, Melissa Ferguson or Kathleen Fuller's other novels. All three feature settings that fans of this genre often appreciate: a road trip, a Christmas tree farm and a flower shop. The chemistry between Luke and Allie in Denise Hunter's A Summer Detour is incredible. The forced proximity of their road trip and the obstacles they battle to get to their destination make for a super satisfying read. This is a wonderful addition to readers' summer reading lists. This Time Around, a novella collection by Denise Hunter, Melissa Ferguson and Kathleen Fuller This is a delightful group of stories. A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter begins the book with a story of Allie Adams who fell for her next door neighbor, Luke Fletcher while they were in high school. The romance never matured (his fault, she says and she hasn’t spoken to him since). Now they are stuck together driving a ’57 Chevy to her grandparents’ 50th anniversary party. The romance never matured (his fault, she says and she hasn’t spoken to him since). Now they are stuck together driving a ’57 Chevy to her grandparents’ 50th anniversary party. The ensuing ride and adventure brings a lot of realizations and truths. It’s a great jaunt! Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson centers around Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm, its caretakers, the Whitesides family and its owner, Theo Watkins. The reality of what has been happening at the farm for quite a while has not been really clear to either Theo or Skye Whitesides. I enjoyed the story, the setting and the fact that Theo is not your typical male character. He Loves me, He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller also has a different type of male lead. In fact there are two main male characters, but only one is definitely the better man. Sophie is a florist but never is the one receiving the flowers. But Landon and Joe both are vying for her attention. I loved the humor in the story, I had never read Kathleen Fuller before, but I will in the future. All three of these novellas are fun and sweet. I recommend them all! Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.. The opinions are entirely my own.
