I found it really interesting that she would basically write one poem twice - a version for the "thinkers" and the "feelers". I've never seen that before and really enjoyed it! is a collection of poems about self-love and finding and deciding oneself. I found it very interesting and unique in the way it is written, since it is divided into two sections, one for thinkers and another one for the feelers. I enjoyed several of the poems and many left me pondering. Although some others were a bit repetitive. The poems were interesting, but they didn't wow me. I still recommend it for those who want to have a good time and reflect on themselves. 3.5⭐ is a collection of poems about self-love and finding and deciding oneself. This poetry collection has made it to the top 10 books of the year for me. This collection was very inspiring and made me feel like someone else understands where I am coming from when I struggle with my anxiety and depression. When you feel down and feel like nothing is going right for you I highly recommend that you pick up this uplifting collection of poetry and escape into a world that you might not know you need at the time!

Poetry that allows you to love yourself is the best in my opinion. Godfred weaves compelling and complex poems that really tear at your heart strings. If you have ever question your worth, your love for yourself and yourself, these poems are made for you. With a side by side comparison of thinking vs feeling.

Loved this book. Very therapeutic. I feel like it would need to be read in context of her other books for the philosophy to be internalized, but it’s a great feel good book that reminds you to slow down and love yourself.

I love the idea that melody wrote this 2 and for her childhood self I feel like that is absolutely amazing and that's not something we see every day with an author 700 poems though is kind of ridiculous and then her idea of the left brain and the right brain is a very interesting concept this whole book is made to activate the whole brain experience not just the left brain are the right brain now you may be asking yourself what is the left brain and what is the right brain I didn't know there wa I love the idea that melody wrote this 2 and for her childhood self I feel like that is absolutely amazing and that's not something we see every day with an author 700 poems though is kind of ridiculous and then her idea of the left brain and the right brain is a very interesting concept this whole book is made to activate the whole brain experience not just the left brain are the right brain now you may be asking yourself what is the left brain and what is the right brain I didn't know there was a difference neither did I until she talked about the left frame bien for the thinkers and the right brain being for feelers carrying on so I put it all down home 10, I relate to so heavily, because you never know how much do how many burdens you're truly carrying, until you finally let them go, I love all of these, they are so personal, but can be directed to anyone, not just herself. This is more of an inspirational self-help home book than just a book of tandem homes. There is a poem in here, home number 40 about surrender, and the main question is fear or love, left side is fear bright side is love and palm 125 south care saved my body, say it self love saved my soul, I resonate with are on a very high high high level, you must read these poems, they will make you feel some type of way or think some type of way depending if you're a left brain or right brain, or like me both.

Thank you NetGalley for the free ARC! I really enjoyed reading the poems and the format of the book was something I've never seen before, one side for the thinkers and the other side for the feelers. The poems were interesting, but they didn't wow me. Still, I love how the author decided to write poems about how we should put our self love first. Thank you NetGalley for the free ARC! I really loved the format of this book - at the start, Godfred has a picture of a brain with the left and right side identified along with common characteristics associated with each side. The left side is the “thinker” and the right side is the “feeler”. Going off of this, each poem in Godfred’s collection is broken into two parts - “thinking” on the left page and “feeling” on the right page. I gathered from the description and subtitle that this would be somewhat more self-helpy than I usually enjoy, but I was expecting more depth to the poems. Instead, they all struck me as pretty surface-level, and aren’t what I’d really qualify as poetry. Mostly, they were nice sentences or thoughts or paragraphs broken up with needless line breaks. Like breaks alone don’t make something poetry, in my opinion (though I guess this could be argued and a lot of modern poetry is defined solely by line breaks in what is otherwise just a nice-sounding sentence).

The messages in this book are wonderful and heartwarming but it's not really poetry. It's mostly just one of those press-enter-after-random-words "-poetry" books. While some of the poems are actual poems, most of them are not. I think this genre of modern poetry should rather be advertised as something else. For example as "streams of consciousness" or "a book of words and nice thoughts". Then it would be something fresh and new and not one of these corny tumblr poetry books. I just would have enjoyed the book itself more if it wasn't trying to be marketed as poetry. Also just a side not from someone who studies psychology; there is no such thing as left brain thinkers and right brain feelers. It's still a fun thought though. Sending kind energy to your day. A big thank you to Net Galley for providing me with a copy in exchange of an honest review. While the thinkers and feelers concept was very interesting and something I have surely never seen before in a book, it was not accomplished by any means, to the point that it bothered me to see the change of font, as if anything was actually different. The poems felt very plain, in fact, they did not seem like poems at all, but actually motivational quotes. I do not think that the content could be labeled as Instagram poetry as well, because most of the content is literally simple sentences broken into two or three lines. I could not connect with the content of this book and the poems lack distinctiveness and emotion, also are pretty repetitive. Unfortunately, this poetry collection did not resonate with me, it did not left me with any emotion, it did not give me anything to think about.

Self Love Poetry: For Thinkers and Feelers is a collection of poems, with each poem written twice: the first way for the left brain thinkers, and the second way for the right brain feelers. I have never seen poetry written this way, and I found myself really enjoying it! I'm more of a feeler, but reading the thinkers version was very eye-opening; it allowed me an insight into how they view the world, which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who loves poetry already, as w Self Love Poetry: For Thinkers and Feelers is a collection of poems, with each poem written twice: the first way for the left brain thinkers, and the second way for the right brain feelers. This is a very nice feel-good collection of poems with some very beautiful oneliners. I could not help but copy some of those into my journal. That ís it though. I often missed the play with words, feeling like I was reading a collection of popular oneliners. I also caught a couple of 'you can choose to be happy'-bits, which can be problematic for those who cannot choose to be happy. I would have to say this is a 4.5 stars, but rounding it up to 5 stars for good measure. I loved this book, definitely such well written poetry that I would recommend. Was some of it boring? Yes, but that is okay. But also some of it was the best poetry I have ever read and I love that, and hope I can read more from this author. I'm very upset. I really wanted to like this book. I don't hate it by any means though. I like what the author was trying to do by having poems that appeal to emotions or logic. However, the poems just did not resonate with me like I thought they would. There were quite a few poems I found amazing, but they were few and far between. I'm still on the fence as to whether or not it's because the poems just aren't my style or if it's because I feel as though I've read these poems elsewhere thousands I'm very upset. Thank you NetGalley for access to the advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed the concept of this poetry collection. The author has organized and paired poems together, with each pair sharing a “left brain - thinker” and “right brain - feeler” perspective for each topic, all centered on the theme of self love. Reading through this lens felt so refreshing - and I found myself bouncing between poems to read them more than once on multiple occasions. Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an eARC of Self love poetry. This reminded me of the times I would reblog poetry on tumblr that was heart achingly relatable and powerful. That is what this poetry collection is. These poems are extremely empowering and motivational. They put into words the pain of putting yourself back together and finding love in yourself. Everything I strive to be has been cultivated into beautiful, lyrical prose and I’m grateful that I was able to read this.

Not every poem is going to hit you, but you're going to think about every poem because you're going to read it twice--once in a version that's inspired by the logical left side of the brain and next in a version inspired by the creative right side of the brain. As you read, you'll feel a bit like your brain is getting a workout. This was a cool experience and I would definitely recommend reading it and then making all your friends read it. I liked a few of the poems, and was surprised to see that in general I resonated way more with the "left brain" poems that with the "right brain" ones. The cover is also very pretty. Sadly that's about all the positive things I have to say about this book. Most of the poems very repetitive and didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. My general opinion about this book is that I didn't like most of it and I certainly won't be reading it ever again. I was lucky enough to get to edit this book and help Melody find pairs of poems to include. My favorite thing about this book is how each poem, individually, is beautiful and thought-provoking, but when you read them as pairs, it's like the poems are having a conversation with each other on a concept. This positive, self-loving book is what we all need right now. I was lucky enough to get to edit this book and help Melody find pairs of poems to include. I read this book in a really stressful time, and it was very soothing. I liked how there were two poems related to every theme, and I found myself sometimes relating more to the thinking side and other times the feeling side, which was really cool. I enjoyed Melody’s words and will try to keep them in mind as this chaotic season continues.

I  received a free digital copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review. I love how this collection has each poem written two ways. First she gives you the left brain poem, and directly after that one for right brain. I enjoyed comparing them. "Everything can change, and I will still be joyful. I love reading poems and I can't say I am an expert into the matter, but as an enthusiast, it's a bittersweet experience. I'm grateful to have read this for free in exchange for an honest review, so I hope this would help. The description regarding the two-fold poetry collection dedicated for the left and right-brain individuals get me excited. It's like, wow, first time to hear such execution. It arouses curiosity, per se. Now, onto the contents. Left-brain poems are a bit stingy in lines. It arouses curiosity, per se. Now, onto the contents. Left-brain poems are a bit stingy in lines. I know it's supposed to depict how the left-brain people process their own emotions, but it's just a bit shallow for me. It's more of like taken from someone's line then taken in as a quote. I wonder if that is a poem. On the other hand, right-brain poems expresses just fine. There are good ones and there are just repetitive lines that composes everything, but in overall, it's alright. I've encountered and read lots of these new form/style of poems that appears like some “quotable quotes” in its shortness (1 or 2 lines at most). I have nothing against such form/style, but I just felt a bit disappointed with the overall execution. Though not all poems are like that in this book, I just felt betrayed. The overall message is positive and uplifting, yet it doesn't move or stir me to feel something about the intended message. It just scratches the surface with words and nothing more.

Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing, for the E-ARC of this book 2.75 or 3. I liked this book. I found it was more like a mixed between poetry and a self help book. I mean, it’s kinda basic but the messages in this book are important. And I think, we forget them a little too much. The only real mistake I did: Reading it when I’m feeling more neutral than feminine
