My rating 4.5 Another great short story “Body In The Waves” by Kristina Gallo. As with the stories I’ve read from Kristina so far, I’ve always enjoyed her inspiration. In my opinion, there are a few more explicit descriptions in the story that are not for every reader and quite brutal scenes, especially towards the end of the story. Regardless, it is a story that can happen to anyone because some evil people will use all their power to harm those weaker than themselves. Natalija was raped ten years ago and carries traumas within her because of it, but when her rapist reappears on her doorstep, her world will start collapsing again. Everything she has built in the last ten years with his appearance will jeopardize his appearance. But what she doesn’t know is that her rapist has evil intentions that he wants to accomplish at all costs. I would recommend this short story to thriller fans.

Body in the Waves is the book you will read in one breath because you cannot put it down before you reach the last page. Kristina Gallo did a great job, not only by writing an intriguing, suspense story but also by sparking to a flame my craving, desire, and nostalgia for the sea and beautiful hot summer days (in these cold, cold winter days) despite the atrocities which always happen to someone, somewhere, out there.

Body In The Waves has everything you would expect from a 5 star thriller read and I absolutely enjoyed every moment of it. From the development of the story through the minds of the characters to the beautifully vivid descriptions of real world locations, I felt very immersed as if I was right in the middle of the action. I also felt like I picked up some knowledge of Croatia (bet you dont know what "bura" means) that makes me want to visit there someday. There were several edge of your seat moments and others that left my jaw dropped (no spoilers.) This is arguably Kristinas' grittiest and best work yet and I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a raw and solid thriller that will keep you captivated from start to finish. I wish there were more thrillers like this out there!

Natalija was raped by Denis but didn't tell anyone. Ten years later she meets Denis again when her boyfriend's sister introduces him as her current boyfriend. In truth I should have rated this as 5 stars but I still find the dialogue distracting at times but well worth reading and I look forward to her next publication.

Amazing psychological thriller! 🦈BOOK REVIEW / “Body in the Waves”/ Kristina Gallo🦈  ___ 🦈Genre: Psychological thriller, novel, crime thriller    Pages: 100 Language: English Publisher: Self-published Release date: 2020   🦈Reading this book was like being hunted by a huge furious shark in the depths of the cold sea; the only way to survive is to distract this monster somehow. 🦈The Plot:  The book tells a story about young woman Natalija. She was raped savagely ten years ago, and since then, she was trying to get back to everyday life. When she got back on track a bit, Denis (the man who did all these awful things to her) emerged in her life again, and the whole nightmare started again even more fiercely.   🦈The Writing Style:  This is one more brilliant psychological thriller by Kristina Gallo. There were so many tense twists and intense moments that my goosebumps were galloping all the time I was reading the book. I enjoy how the writer managed to describe the sightseen and sceneries in the book; it felt like a virtual traveling around Croatia. This is a rapid-paced, well-structured, and smartly written thriller that a reader can read in one sitting. 🦈The Characters: The number of characters is average. Every single character, the main and the minor ones, is depicted perfectly in all aspects. I felt emotionally connected to all of them from the first lines. And I felt furious about the villain. It means that the writer succeeded in describing it masterfully. 🦈Warnings: Death, murder, rape, abuse, kidnapping 💙Would I read other books by this author: Absolutely yes! 🌟My humble rating is: 5/5

This wasn't an easy book to read because of the graphic and brutal rape scenes. Nevertheless, the book deals with the sensitive subject matter of rape and the past coming back to haunt Natalija who should have reported her ordeal.
