This is the 6th book in the series and I think it is the best by far. The way the story was constructed from the introduction of the incident until the time of the Senate hearing will show the reader how difficult this was to accomplish. The actions that Zack took for his client and the team that supported him showed co-operation at its best. It also highlighted what steps those in political power would take to allow the confirmation to succeed. The final scene in the Senate chambers and the events which occurred after will keep you guessing how this will all turn out. It also brings to mind the type of happenings during Brett Kavanaugh's hearings which took place right after Donald Trump became President. If you enjoy details of how things get accomplished, then you must read this book. It will keep you going right through the end. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. You won't either.

Hayley Lawson remembers only too well the events of the dreadful night. Oliver Wilkinson comes from a prosperous neighbourhood, and along with his brother are entitled, rich boys. Their house is known as the place to be. Accompanied by a friend, he corners Hayley in an upstairs bathroom in his home, full of drunken partygoers and attempts to rape her. Over twenty years later, married and successful, caring for a family of her own, she still suffers from the horror of the assault. She reassures herself she can place the nightmare behind her and concentrate on furthering her career, until Oliver is selected to be part of the Supreme Court Justice. She has no choice but to expose him as a sexual predator and confront her past. Hayley is portrayed as an amazing, dynamic woman who publicly opposes the perpetrator of an alleged crime. As the novel unfolds, it becomes clear how involved this entire process is. Mark M. Bello has an intense descriptive style and exploits the theatrical performances of the lawyers in a courtroom battle. This book develops into much more than a battle of banter between defendant and prosecutor.  I can’t imagine Hayley’s state of mind. Oliver becomes more confident in himself reaching the position he craves and thinks he deserves. In return, I became more and more concerned that he could succeed. He was a wealthy man; I dreaded him being able to corrupt the politicians by buying their silence. The pathway through the book creates intrigue, as we speculate what to expect next! The reader is hooked, drawn through the book, left chewing on the ending scene. From the offset, there is a moment of intense politics which is a fundamental part of the tale. Stay with it because it unfolds and leads to an intricate web of deceit that does not disappoint. Oliver is a despicable character. Bello has fashioned the qualities we detest in society, completely into this one man and as a reader, we demand justice for Hayley because we recognize the distinction between right and wrong. No one wants evil to win over good. I did not foresee this conclusion but I love it all the more for providing a fascinating twist. I held at the back of my mind several possibilities in the way it could pan out, but this was one I had not considered, thankyou Mark M. Bello for the welcome surprise! I rate Supreme Betrayal 5 out of 5 stars.

Bello Grand Publications, 2020 279 pages Fiction / Legal thriller. In 1997, during a teenagers party, the Wilkinson's son and his best friend tried to sexually abuse Hayley, then a minor. Twenty-three years later, the nation is reeling after two Republican presidencies whose measures have been draconian. The only Supreme Court judge who maintained the fragile balance between the parties has just resigned and, among the five names that are being considered to succeed him, stands out that of young Judge Oliver Wilkinson, a radical conservative who seems to openly advocate the lack of justice and the total imbalance in favor of the extreme right. Zachary Blake, the billionaire and famed human rights and social justice lawyer, makes it his goal to stop Wilkinson's rise, seeing in him a huge threat to democracy and justice. When Hayley (now married with children) learns of Oliver's opportunity of success, she decides to fight so that her attacker does not get his way as if nothing ever happened. This legal thriller, inspired by and dedicated to the Me Too movement, is part of a series of novels starring attorney Zachary Blake. Written by a lawyer with extensive professional experience both in the legal field and in fiction writing, the novel tells of a very current struggle in which the characters and the situations they face feel totally logical and real. I think that the dialogues, the investigation, the intrigue and the action will completely satisfy fans of the genre. This is a highly recommended book for those who enjoy the genre of legal suspense and want to understand why reporting and fighting are important even when some misconduct seems like a thing of the past.

He spent forty years in the courtroom with high profile legal cases, and now offers his knowledge on his website Legal Examiner and Injury Board writing posts about safety, fairness and justice in the civil justice system. Mark consolidates his experiences in this series of novels – THE ZACHARY BLAKE LEGAL THRILLERS, of which SUPREME BETRAYAL is Book 6. One reason Mark M Bello’s legal thriller series is so absorbing is the manner in which he draws parallels to contemporary controversies. In this series Bello has tackled the Church and clergy sexual abuse, white supremacists and the President of the US, law enforcement, racism, gun control and school shootings, and now tainted Supreme Court nominees and sexual predators. By now, those who follow the Zachary Blake legal thrillers know the primary characters and the unique mode of communicating a story line that make these books so memorable: the need for introductions is less important, but Bello adds new personnel in this volume and in doing so stirs even more reflective thoughts! The synopsis is a fine guide for this fast paced story – ‘Bloomfield, Michigan, an affluent Detroit area suburb, is home to trial lawyer Zachary Hayley Larson isn’t a party girl, but she is tired of always doing everything her parents say. She decides to finally attend a Wilkinson party and see what all the hype is about. It isn’t long before fellow classmates are in various states of inebriation throughout the lakefront mansion in West Bloomfield. Hayley contemplates leaving but decides to find a bathroom first. With attorney Zachary Blake's help, can Hayley prevent a sexual predator from being elevated to the highest court in the land?’ And once again the story rings true, especially in view of contemporary news. After reading the first five volumes, the central character Zachary Blake is now a substantial legal hero, and the manner in which master craftsman Bello manipulates his character’s movement and development is a witness to both the depth of his legal knowledge and his eloquent prose. The language is appropriate for each character, and the manner in which the multiple characters interweave is mesmerizing. This legal thriller series is of the first caliber! Highly recommended.

This is my second Mark Bello book, and I feel like I probably need to get on the bandwagon here and grab some more. This is the 6th book and is stronger than the last I read. The writing, plot, characters, are all a step up from the last book. Bello is definitely growing stronger as a writer, and that’s saying something because the last book I read was pretty solid. What makes these stories stand out, I think, is that Bello pulls from real-life experience and then expands on it with fiction. This particular story follows Hayley, a victim of sexual assault, and her mission to prevent her abuser from gaining a position of power. Of course, our beloved lawyer, Zackary Blake, is in the center of the fight and leads Hayley on her adventure; but the story really isn’t his. It’s Hayley’s. You can feel the emotions that drive her. When she teams up with Blake you can feel the hope and determination pour off the page. Highly recommend it, this is a stellar book.

Love how the investigators go after not only the policemen that were involved but others that attended the party. They go the distance to provide the full facts of the original case. Like that it also is similar to update events of today, the last man appointed in the real world and how he was put through hearings for days. Love action and details that are so descriptive of the events and scenes. Hope I find more of this author's works to read. Title leads you to wonder what's inside... This is my first book by Mark M. Bello, Supreme Betrayal book #6. I started with this one because it was recommended to me. I felt that this was a good read and a stand alone book although after the prologue it started out slow. The prologue instantly grabbed my attention, Hayley is 16 at the Wilkinson brothers party in West Bloomfield. Where older brother Oliver Wilkinson and friend Shane Marbury attempt to rape Hayley. Although she was able to escape, she was still a victim of sexual assault. This is my first book by Mark M. Bello, Supreme Betrayal book #6. I started with this one because it was recommended to me. She took that experience and become an advocate for other women who suffered from sexual assaults. 22 years later Oliver Wilkinson is about to be appointed a seat on the Supreme Court, Hayley does everything to expose Oliver and hopefully prevent him from becoming the next Supreme Court judge. Her husband gets into contact with his friend and lawyer Zachary Blake who help Hayley navigate this experience and expose Oliver of his past crimes. If he has done this to Hayley, Zack is sure it wasn't a "one and done". The first half of the book is greatly detailed on politics but the action picks up when a failed hit goes out on Shane Marbury. Ultimately this a nicely balanced book with police/FBI investigation, politics, and murder. The end was a pleasant surprise with an opening for possibilities of a book #7. This book is dedicated to the ME TOO MOVEMENT, a great fictitious book but relatable for those to identify with the ME TOO MOVEMENT. As Mark M. Bello says, "Don't be afraid to make your voice heard"

Hayley and Joel asked for help from high profile attorney Zachary Blake who also doesn't want to see Oliver on the seat of the Supreme Court. The way the story started is amazing. Narration is strong. The moment I started reading this book, I was pulled inside the story. Mark's story plots are superb and it would be awesome to see movies on his story plots. If you are a fan of reading legal thrillers then Mark's stories are what you should pick. 𝑴𝒚 𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: 5/5

I haven't read many books as good as this one in a long time. Author Mark M Bello smashes the legal thriller genre out of the park once again. Supreme Betrayal is book 6 of a captivating legal thriller series with great characters and a complex story line that hooked me from the start. I’ve followed this series since the first episode, Betrayal of Faith, and they’ve kept me turning pages of each book since. Again the writing was very accomplished in Supreme Betrayal, and I still love Zachary Bla I haven't read many books as good as this one in a long time. Supreme Betrayal is perhaps the best addition to the series yet, with compelling dialogue and a plot line that hooks from early on and provides interesting and unexpected twists along the way. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys the legal / suspense / thriller genres.

Supreme Betrayal is a thrilling legal thriller from an author I have only just discovered. Mark Bello has created protagonist Zachary Blake, the central figure in this, and I guess his other books too. As an attorney himself Bello has an intricate knowledge of the legal system, and that filters through in the book as the plot unfolds in a clever and entertaining way that kept me hooked from very early on. I won’t give away any spoilers but this did keep me guessing just how things would work out Supreme Betrayal is a thrilling legal thriller from an author I have only just discovered. I’ll be checking out more of Bello’s work very soon.
