I didn't expect this book to be as inspiring as it is. Delta talks a lot about her own drivers, positive and negative, and (possibly because we are the same age) I've always felt like I "grew up" alongside her. Here she discusses navigating a lot of the questions I've asked myself, and it definitely adds many layers to the beauty of the new album. Further, the photography throughout the book is stunning. So many of them would make gorgeous framed prints. A job well done, for sure. I didn't expect this book to be as inspiring as it is. Golly gosh, I love this woman. The heart and soul she puts into everything she does is tremendous. I'm not usually one for "coffee table books", but the voice and strength that came through in these words hit home. This is a very raw and emotional insight to the new album and Delta's life as a whole. Would recommend to any fan. Golly gosh, I love this woman. I fell in love with Delta's music when I first heard Born To Try and followed her music ever since. I really like the idea of this book, it makes me enjoy the album even more and it gives me a bigger connection to the album. It's nice to read about the meanings behind the songs. I do think it's sad that The Power is missing from the book, I guess it's an exclusive for the e-book version, but the book does say it tells the story of the full album when it does not. There are a lot of pictures in the book and all the lyrics (except for The Power) and it's such a nice thing to have if you like Delta! I think having a hard copy is worth it for the layout / pictures / the way the book looks. It's so beautiful.

I’ve been a fan of Delta’s for 20 years. I was obsessed with Brit-Pop back in the day and I remember seeing Delta in Top of the Pops magazine. I can just remember instantly loving her voice when I downloaded her songs I came across (US fan here). Since then I’ve just adored Delta with every single album. I like how Delta writes in this book that Bridge Over Troubled Dreams is her adult album and it truly is. While I love all her songs before BOTD is so enjoyable because it is grown up. I’ve literally grown up with Delta and her music evolvement. I loved reading this book and reading what went into the making of this record. I like reading where she came up for ideas for these new songs. I love reading books about musicians and singers and Bridge Over Troubled Dreams is now one of my favorites.

I’ve been a fan of Delta since her first album Innocent Eyes and have always bought her albums although she is not is the UK as much anymore. This book is a companion to her new album of the same name and tells the stories behind some of the songs. It is a beautifully produced book with loads of great photos and it was interesting to find out more about the process of creating the album and what inspired certain songs. Delta’s music is always really personal as she writes about her life experiences, and he has been through a lot, but she does it is a way that you can relate to it and this album is no exception so whichever paralysed is about her loosing the ability to speak after an operation and having to learn again the song could be applied to many things and different experiences. I hope Delta writes more in the future.

I finished the book without having the words to explain what I read, Delta is a young woman warrior and full of strength, given the problems she has had throughout her life. Despite her success in Australia, in this book she shows that she has her feet firmly on the ground, she doesn't like to be seen as a celebrity. For her, being a public figure is the consequence of her passion for music. In this book, she shows very well how great her passion for music is. It's a book where she shares her intimacy, her stories and looks back on her career. Furthermore, it leaves us with great life lessons that she learned while recovering her speech. I loved this book and I love the new record, it's amazing.

A must addition to the incredible album. Normally you listen to an album and relate the songs to your own life without knowing what the story behind the song actually is. With this book, you get to see what Delta was living as the songs were created and relate that to your own life. Bridge Over Troubled Dreams is a great insight into Delta Goodrem's stories and thoughts about her latest album of the same name. When you really listen to the songs on the album, you can get a good understanding of where Delta was in that phase of life and she is so good at making you "feel" her music. The book adds to this and Delta shares some of her personal stories as to how the songs came about and evolved. Fantastic album and the book builds on this further! Delta Goodrem has really outdone herself this time. This book is very much an extension of her album (of the same name). She talks about the inspiration behind each song, which allows the listener, and reader, to understand where the songs came from. It gives you an inside look into Delta Goodrem.

As far as celebrity books go, it wasn’t bad. It was like an extended edition of an album booklet with interesting tidbits that deepen the listening experience of the album.

4.75 stars! I've been a massive fan of Delta and her music since I was 7 years old so of course, I was beyond excited for her to release an autobiography 18 years later.
