I enjoyed this little read about President Barack Obama. It makes it easier for kids to understand who he was and is. It show plenty of pictures of himself and his family, past and present in the book and the front is big enough to make it easier for children to read and enjoy it and not get bored with it. It is a short book, but filled with just enough information to understand the meaning and purpose behind it.

The characters in this book is Barack Obama, his wife, kids and his parents. President Barack Obama was a teacher and Senator in Chicago before he was president. It is beautiful colors and real photos throughout the entire book of the president Barack Obama getting inaugurated, teaching and his high school where he graduated. Some themes to this story could be "family, hard work and dedication". This book has a smooth texture, with large font which is very easy for young children to read. The language is very appropriate and stays on subject, with the words following each illustration. I will recommend this book to young readers 5-7 years old. This book is very informational for young children. This is a great book to read to children for Black History Month or Presidents Day. I've even learned some new information about our president Barack Obama by reading this bio "Meet President Barack Obama" by Laine Falk.

I was impressed that a biography could be written for a first grade audience, but this one does a nice job of giving some historical, and mostly recent information about Obama's life. It seems like it might be considered a partial biography but is a factual one that is only facts about different stages of his life. The students enjoy reading it and seeing the real photography of his family and places he has lived. This book is an essential literature piece to have in classrooms all around the country. Because Barack Obama is our current President, this book can be used to help students learn about our nation's leader. This book presents the history behind Barack Obama and fosters the idea that almost anything is possible when a person works hard towards raeching a goal. Many second grade students favor this book, which I find interesting because it is a history book. This book is an essential literature piece to have in classrooms all around the country.
