Wonderfully illustrated book with 500 images from all of the ancient civilizations from this region accompanied by enjoyable, detailed yet brief introductions to each. Some inevitable overlap which was slightly confusing especially the obscure Sumerian, Babylonian, Hittite, neo-Babylonian get a little jumbled up in your head. I found this to be an amazing book. One for the library. I took my time reading and studying the various historys of the areas and the amazing full color artifacts throughout the entire book. Full of fascinating archeological finds, names, kingdoms, historic events. I found myself doing some biblical comparison. Truly a good find, and can be found used, in beautiful shape, very reasonably price on through the internet. You will not be disipointed if you have any interest in the early history of I found this to be an amazing book. One for the library. One of the best books about ancient Middle Easter history I have on my shelves. Richly illustrated and informative, highly recommended for those interested in this region or history or both. :)
