This is a good book for those who want to know a little bit about a lot of diseases that are acquired by outside means.

This was a nice quick read about infectious diseases written for those who are curious enough to want to read about it.

A fun and informative read. Had several typos and was a bit overlong as some of the categories could have been combined or shortened.

A number of editing errors sully the book's presentation quality, but the basic information given for each disease is accurate. Although it is a bit dated (no entries for Zika, acute flaccid myelitis, or COVID-19), the information given is helpful to those who know very little about etiology, virology, epidemiology, and historic outbreaks of specific diseases. I am one of these people, so I thoroughly enjoyed learning what the author did cover. Cute and short recap for many common and some uncommon diseases. It was slightly informative and may be a good read for someone just starting to get interested in these facts. There were a few things I wasn't expecting but overall I was unsatisfied with the information. Also I'm a little worried about giving this to someone who isn't adept with disease research because although it has a lot of good starter information it can be a little alarmist at times which could frighten someone away from fu Cute and short recap for many common and some uncommon diseases. Очень клевая книжка, но так как про все заболевания рассказано очень кратко, лучше всего читать с «Википедией». Узнала о существовании прионов и антивирусов (я-то думала, их еще не придумали!).

Quick info on 50 of the world's most virulent plagues and infectious diseases. I would have liked a lot more info.

What's not to love about a little black book of pandemics......a great pocket guide to one's favorite viruses, bacteria and prions.

Enlightening but not something I would class as being a "book". Seems like little leaflets put together in a hard cover.
