This is a first year economics textbook, for that its good. But for a textbook to get an idea of how the world economy works, I would give it a three out of five. My major gripe with this book was that it simplified economic theory into a series of concepts that explained cause and effect relationships in the later chapters when talking about inflation, money markets, government policies.

In regards to Canadian context, 5 stars. However in regards to its ability to present macroeconomics in a way as to be understood - yikes! Absolutely sub-par. I had to buy additional texts....

This textbook was terrible. Difficult to understand, not easy to read, extremely convoluted, and riddled with errors. This is one of the worst textbooks I've had the misfortune of reading, and it showed in the grade I received for my class (I got an B in macro econ while I got an A+ in micro econ - and by the way no, I didn't get a B because I'm stupid - I got a B because this textbook is total dog shit and the class average of the class I was in was a D). And why is it so centered on Canada's economy? Canada is the 10th largest economy in the world, so why aren't we studying economies like China or the USA or Japan or Germany more in depth? What a waste of time I spent reading this garbage. I wouldn't recommend this textbook to anyone unless you want an example of how not to write a textbook. If I could rate it 0/5 stars I would. Do not waste your time reading this crap. 1/5

It makes it way more confusing than macroeconomics needs to be. Most of the time I just found short youtube videos that explained the concept in a way more understandable way.

horrible

Full of mistakes. Some parts are explained well but some are very confusing. Not an easy book for a student of economics.

Very useful tool in learning about the workings of the world economy. This is macro economics so it leans towards focusing on the entire economy rather than specific firms.

Alright, for a textbook
