Nate being Nate, he throws himself into the planning to the exclusion of all else including his long suffering men at home. Wanting to support Nate in his first every major event they take a sideline to the late nights he puts in at the office as well as the dinners he either never shows up for or late getting to. Something had to give as with three men who have always been in each others pocket – the crack eventually starts to show. The entire cattle valley is just waiting for Nate to do one of two things, mess up or do what he does best and rope people in and have the best Cattle Valley Day ever. Closer to home however things are not good – as one of Nate’s men is taking the shift in their relation to heart and when an accident happens – they literally have to find what makes then a kick ass team in order to get through the tragedy – and they have to find it quick. CATTLE VALLEY DAY is the most emotional of the Cattle Valley books so far. From the first sentence I was hooked. Right from the outset we are dropped into Nate’s, Ryan’s and Rio’s issues that they are currently having and from previous meeting that we have had with these three – I was knee deep in their problems. They are dealing with Nate's stint as mayor in their own way and none of it good. With a lot left unsaid and harsh words the order of the day – they are on the verge of losing it all if they can’t find middle ground and soon, as health issues are a concern for at least one of these men. Most of the residents of the Valley makes an appearance in this book and as is Lynne's style she weaves her way through each partnership and gives us a catch up of what they all are getting up to. I was very very pleased to see the Good family make an appearance en masse and as much as there was very little interaction with them – it was just nice to know they have all bonded and the Good family unit is stronger than ever. As I said before this is a very emotional read – secrets are spilled, friendships are forged and in the long run after all is said and done Cattle Valley is stronger for everything that it has gone through and is going through at the moment. Ms. Lynne has really outdone herself with this twelfth book in the Cattle Valley series. The language is easy, the pace is pressing – I wanted it to go faster, but was secreting wishing the book would not come to an end. As usual Lynne gives us a taste of her next book and I am so anticipating it – it looks like fireworks are about to be set off in the next book. CATTLE VALLEY DAYS is a must read – no two ways about it. N.B. – This is not a stand alone book – this book is best read as apart of the Cattle Valley series of books.

Book #12 of the Cattle Valley series, Cattle Valley Days, featured three of my favorite polyamorous lovers, Rio, Nate and Ryan. This trio of delicious and eternally sex starved men were the MCs featured in the first book of the series, All Play and No Work. The two rugged alpha males, Ryan and Rio, and their impeccably dressed and diminutive lover, Nate, burn up the pages with their creative and red hot menage scenes. While Nate's charismatic personality again steals the show, I prefer the ultra-masculine cop, Ryan, and the surprisingly sensitive ex-mercenary, Rio. That said, it is the overt differences between these men that lends a sense of authenticity to the sustainability of their over the top sexual chemistry. Sexy, endearing and easy to read, I recommend this book to fans of Carol Lynne. If you are unfamiliar with the series, start from book 1. The sexy and progressive world of the predominantly Gay town of Cattle Ranch, Wyoming is definitely worth checking out.

Hands-down one of my fave in the series. This was an emotional ride for Ryan, Rio and Nate and I loved it. It was well-written and allowed me further access and personal information about my favourite characters in the series. The addition of the Good Brothers just made the story even better.

Review written for Love Bytes Reviews. Alright, so…based on the blurb for this one, I was expecting something much different from what I actually got. Alright, so…based on the blurb for this one, I was expecting something much different from what I actually got. I mean, I was expecting to get a good look at a lot of my favorite pairings from the series so far instead of the small glimpses you usually get at either new or existing couples over the course of a usual story. I…did not. What the blurb fails to express is that this is another Nate, Ryan and Rio story with a heavy focus on Nate; you only get to see other people like you normally would in any other Cattle Valley story. So, if this pairing isn’t your cup of tea, aside from the ending, you probably won’t enjoy this one as much. So, Nate is trying to settle into his new job as Mayor of Cattle Valley and his first big project is getting everything set up and ready to go for the annual Cattle Valley Days Rodeo festival and Dance. Determined to make everything perfect and unprepared for the shear amount of work involved, he’s been putting in longer and longer hours at the office and his relationship with his two men is starting to suffer. The fights and stress are now getting to Rio who is having flashbacks to his own childhood and his health is beginning to suffer as a result and Ryan is struggling with his place in their relationship now that he’s no longer the ‘big man’ his other two partners look up to. Needless to say, things are a mess and none of these three are really unbending enough to fix things properly. When they do finally straighten themselves out, tragedy strikes and no one is left prepared to deal with the aftermath. I liked the story in general; Nate won’t ever by my favorite character and after he kind of intruded on the last book, I wasn’t entirely thrilled to see him starring in this one. Despite my misgivings, however, I did enjoy the book. The ending was particularly powerful and I wasn’t expecting that level of tragedy to strike the town; people will be dealing with the aftermath for a while, I think. Even if you don’t care for this group of men, the ending was totally worth the read and I do like how it settled Nate into his role of Mayor kind of naturally.

In the 12th installment of the Cattle Valley series, Carol Lynne delivers a poignant story of love, humanity, community and unity. It was certainly fun to read about the Good brothers again. I also loved reading about the new challenges facing Nate, Rio and Ryan, because they seem so believable to me. Those three characters already hold a spot in my heart and with this story, I felt every bit of their anxiety, their confusion, their pain and their love as if it was my own. It was a lovely ride. As a story, Cattle Valley Days stands out in many ways. First, Carol Lynne succeeded in giving this book a three dimensional, visual quality that had been lacking in prior installments. Second, while the book has plenty of hot sex and delves into the romantic lives of several residents, it is not a new HEA. Had somebody told me this ahead of time, I might have been concerned. Yet, this is a fantastic addition to the series that furthers the story arc, answers some existing questions, and raises new questions. It does all of this while keeping up with a fast moving plot, continuing the development of existing characters, introducing new characters and introducing a surprisingly angsty plot twist that is bound to have repercussions for a couple more stories down the road. In an even more surprising move, the author leaves us with the specter of potentially turbulent times ahead for the dream like community of Cattle Valley. Angst anyone? Cattle Valley Days combines Carol Lynne's ability to craft a world and write an engaging series with the type of superb character development and soul moving plot lines that I have come to expect from the best m/m writers published today. Color me impressed!

Lynne has written a very emotional story that lets us catch up with Ryan, Nate, and Rio as Nate, in his capacity as mayor, prepares for Cattle Valley Days. The new job is stressing him. His fear of failing his community and his lovers is overwhelming him, but he isn't allowing himself to ask for help. Ryan is getting angry, and the stress is making Rio ill. Then, just when things are starting to look better, tragedy strikes the community. This entry into the Cattle Valley series is one of my favorites. I enjoyed the way the author lets the reader catch up with some of her most popular characters and the way she illustrates the wonderful, familial community of Cattle Valley. Unfortunately, when the books end, I'm always saddened by the fact that real-life communities aren't as loving and accepting as the one Ms. Lynne has created.

Ok, I admit it. I'm hopelessly biased, but suffice it to say that ANY 'Cattle Valley' Book featuring Ryan, Rio, and Nate is going to be a good one. The dedication these three have amazes me and they certainly have a unique way to settle their differences, one which takes 'makeup sex' to a whole new level. Sigh.... I just absolutely adore Nate, Rio and Ryan... this one started off with Nate having too much on his plate, getting ready for Cattle Valley Days, he wanted to make the town festival one everyone would remember but sadly his relationships were suffering a little bit. My expectations for this book was low because according to the blurb I didn't see that the story would focus on a new couple. The book started out with a bang! I finally got to see Ryan fuck Rio instead of Nate. I mean Ryan and Rio were a couple before Nate came along so they had to be doing each other. Then at the end I get another surprise with Nate fucking Rio. Now all I want before the end of this series is for Ryan to get fucked. LOL! I have been avoiding this story because it involve my least favorite character in Cattle Valley beside Guy which is Nate. I love the interaction between Rio and Ryan but when Nate comes into play I just want to skip those pages. I have read pretty much every book in the Cattle Valley series but mostly skip the ones featuring these trio that have to include Nate. It was a decent story but mostly nothing really was surprising since I have read ahead in this series

Не понравилось то,что Нейта решили пропустить через проблемы в отношениях. Мне их троица очень нравится и не хотелось видеть трудности, которые по сути решены так и не были. Ну и трагедия, в которой погибли четверо жителей долины расстроила.
