This was a very good collection of stories. While some capture a moment or event (like Grief Observed by Laurita Miller, Sales Call by Graham Storrs or In The Nuthouse by Dannan O'Brien), and others are darkly funny and quirky (like Pirated Twinkies by Shannon Esposito or What's in a Name by MArk Souza), a large number of them talk of deaths and murders and suicides (like Fairy Tales by Laurel Wilczek, The Brain Eaters by Terri Lynn Coop, or The Vial by Tom Bentley). This book was perfect for my morning/afternoon commute. The train trip is short. Too short to absorb myself in a novel and even short stories are frustrating because I don't get enough time to complete them. I was easily able to read one of the stories in this collection per trip and a good collection it is to. Diverse stories and styles, hit and miss but so short that if you don't like a particular tale, another one comes right along. By and large pretty good anthology. Free at Smashwords. A great read when I need to read for pleasure. They're short and concise and the topic ranges from dark to lighter moods, happy thoughts and some sad one. You can also find some good creepy story beneath. :D A great read when I need to read for pleasure.
