I liked it :3

Well, no doubt about it, this one comes AFTER An Independent Woman. I can't for a moment think why it's listed as the first in this series here in Goodreads and on Camp's own website. So it's a no-brainer. As I said, the only quandary is why this is listed as #1. As for the book itself, the shift from strong, independent, unemotional Eleanor to a woman madly in love for the first time is a bit tricky, but it's not unsuccessful. The mystery is not a surprise when it is resolved although there were enough potential red herrings for one to feel smug at having guessed right. Did think Eleanor and her guy were a bit long in figuring out where the list was hidden.

Gostei imenso deste livro.

3.5 stars. Light easy breezy read that didn't make me want to reach in and strangle any of the characters. That and the abrupt ending kept this from being a full 4. But still fun read.

i didn't quite understand who the title was referring to in this book. it certainly wasn't the hero. he was known as someone not to cross, but not "dangerous"...as the title suggests. the background murder story kind of sucked. plus, there was a lot of music jargon that i was clueless to understand.

...I would definitely recommend this sweat romance. It is not a modern day contemporary erotic piece with every detail of its indiscretions finely painted.…

There's a certain intensity about this one. I enjoyed the story despite the fact the two leads 'hated' each other com-plete-ly, until they didn't.

This was a fun, sexy, passionate, mysterious story. I read this in a day so I was hooked to say the least. It kept me entertained the whole way. She moves him to Naples after they marry but that doesn’t save him. He leaves his estate to his cousin and most of his money to his sister, which his wife would manage. His mother, Lady Honoria, will have none of the that. So she sends her brother, Lord Anthony Neale, to talk to to her and get the majority of the will. However, Neale saw her a year ago and was struck with her beauty and has wanted her since which is why he has stayed away. Now he has to see her again after a year but he can’t possibly feel the same still right? Wrong. Their passion is intense. Eleanor and Anthony despise each other but that dislike soon melts every time they are in each other’s arms. They decide to work together to find out how Edmund really died too. So you read about secret societies in Naples. It was a great story and had action and adventure all through it. A good read over all.

Candace Camp scores a hit with this tale of Anthony and Eleanor. If you like a Recency novel that has humor, mystery, intrigue and steamy romance, this is for you. It's a full length novel that will keep you entertained from the opening sentence.

A nice romance - the initial hostility not overdone - good main characters. The whiney mother is just annoying, the other secondaries bland, the end however is almost farcical despite the dead bodies. The book deserved better, but still a good read.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here.

Maybe 1 and a half stars? I honestly have no idea how I feel about this book. My first Camp book and while I found nothing wrong with her writing I just was plain underwhelmed. I am not a huge mystery fan so that element of the plot was lost on me. I indeed did like the h/h but found them forgettable and utterly unremarkable. I know many who love Camp so I will give her another try as I said the writing was good the story and characters were just blah for me.

Usually I love Candace Camp's books, however this was the first one I got a little bored with. I enjoyed solving the mystery, but I couldn't figure out why the two main characters loved each other. Also there were long passages where the characters reflected on their feelings that probably could have been shorter or cut completely. This being said I devoured this book in two days.

Classic Heroine Meets Guy It was a pretty interesting story, and I loved the strong female lead. The pace of the story was a bit slow and the story line itself came off as if it was trying too hard to be twisted or complicated. Overall, it was an entertaining read.

read one of Ms Camp's novels, you've read them all I made the mistake of reading "A Dangerous Man" right after reading "The Hidden Heart". They were so similar that I could predict when and how the H and h would have sex and who the villain was.
