Each chapter logically covers an element of this shift away from traditional welfare state ideology and disseminates the structural consistency of social policy and wellbeing within the confines of a neoliberal/free market driven system. Some parts of the book were a bit difficult to get through, with the dreaded full pages of text, fortunately Jamrozik has a writing style that manages to stay away from droll and 'thick' language. Instead, Jamrozik has a rallying flavour that convincingly takes you along his logic and absorbs you in his arguments for social change. Overall this is a very useful text for anyone wanting to explore the elements and implications of social policy and the structural forces that shape relevant aspects. It's not too difficult to read, but even the harder parts are worth it.
