After the performance, she hides, remaining in the empty building to absorb the history and relive the haunting story once again. Then she sees HIM! But how can that be? He is a myth,a legend. My personal favorite book written by Amanda Ashley here is my favorite part from the book: "He had lived in solitude for so long. Surely he deserved a few years of companionship? If she would but stay with him, he would grant her every desire, fulfill her every wish. If she would love him… He laughed bitterly. There was little chance of that. A woman like Cristie, so young and so beautiful, could surely have her pick of handsome men. Men who walked in the sun’s light without fear."-Erik My personal favorite book written by Amanda Ashley here is my favorite part from the book: "He had lived in solitude for so long. It's a really interesting take on Phantom of the opera, I only wish it was longer so it could have been developed in more detail! It's a really interesting take on Phantom of the opera, I only wish it was longer so it could have been developed in more detail!

*Shrek meme voice* It didn't even have a sex scene... Sometimes hitting randomize on the Libby app brings up a treasure trove of hidden gems, new favorites, and authors I never would have discovered on my own... and then there's this. The New York Times really just be letting anybody's fanfic on that list, huh? *Shrek meme voice* It didn't even have a sex scene... One of the best inspired stories I ever read on Phantom of the Opera. And that's saying a lot. The vampire twist is great. One of the best inspired stories I ever read on Phantom of the Opera. And that's saying a lot. The vampire twist is great.

Melodramatic & cringe worthy. It's set in modern era yet uses antiquated language. (18 pgs) Melodramatic & cringe worthy. It's set in modern era yet uses antiquated language. (18 pgs)

After the month is up, he knows he cannot keep her, but would she be willing to stay? First off. Way too short. Not enough depth, character development or believability. Lots of telling instead of showing. I struggled to buy into the fact that Christie was willing to spend an entire month (a month!?!) living underground with a complete stranger. Does she not have family to worry? What about her travel plans? It was really weird when Erik returned Christie to her hotel room and it was still available to her! Am I to believe that a teacher could afford a hotel room in Paris for an entire month (without selling off all her possessions) and was totally okay with not living in it for a month? It was little stuff like that that bugged me when the story failed to entertain me sufficiently. It is a novel idea and kind of cute, but it didn't really satisfy.

3 Stars This first appeared in the The Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance, and because it was so short, the author obviously didn't have the time to flesh out the characters or the plot...but she still managed to present a sweet paranormal fairy tale. Yes, it was a little silly, yes it was completely implausible. But, I still found myself enjoying the story. I have been a fan of all things Phantom of the Opera related for many years, so that definitely helped with my suspension of disbelief. I have always wanted to read something by Amanda Ashley, but have been weary for two reasons...the less than stellar reviews I have seen for some of her books, and the fact that her love stories are much more on the tame side than I usually prefer *wink*. But, this was a sweet, romantic bit of fluff that i quite enjoyed. Read more of my reviews at BookGasmic.

I am always excited and willing to read a new Phantom of the Opera themed book, and this one was no exception. I got it cheap for my kindle app on iPad, and I was excited to start it. First of all, I was shocked by how short it was. That, in itself, was enough to make this book 'just okay' for me. The characters were hardly developed and it moved way too fast. There was no time for the reader to get on board with the storyline - it just happened in a very short span of time. Second of all, the twist that the author put in there was a little shocking - and not exactly idea in my opinion. I don't want to give anything away, but I think the Phantom is perfect the way he is - he didn't need that added feature. Overall, I'm happy I read it because I love anything and everything Phantom-related, but it wasn't my favorite Phantom phan phiction.

A really sweet story about a teacher name Cristie who's facinated by the story "Phantom of the Opera'. She goes to Paris to visit the Opera House. There she finds the real Phantom: a vampire who's been pining for his 'Christine'. They each find what they have been searching for in each other's arms. After the nice flow of the story line, the end is a little contrived and abrupt. Favorite scene: Christie finding his treasure room and his coffin. Excellent short story, wish it was longer It's an updated version of the phantom of the opera with a twist. The story is told in the modern world and this time the phantom gets the girl. It's about time! I always thought that Christine should have gone with Erik and that Raoul was kind of a wuss. The only problem I had with the story was that it was short. Other than that it's a great story. Excellent short story, wish it was longer It's an updated version of the phantom of the opera with a twist. I totally regret buying this. I pretty much paid for a crappy fanfiction. The twist is just silly. And by the cover I kind of assumed it would be at least a little steamy. Nope. Just couldn't take it seriously. (view spoiler)[ Like another reviewer said, you don't need to make the phantom a vampire, he's a good enough character as he is. They just don't mix. Book is too short. I love reading your books. The wonder of Erik the vampire being The real Phantom was so endearing and Cristiana wanting to share time with Erik because she would want to if she had the chance to was something I would want to do.
